Candlewood Suites JACKSONVILLE

The room had had all the ammenties it advertised and in working order. There was a small refrigerator, stove top, dishwasher, iron, hairdryer & microwave. The bed was supposed to be a king or queen and we had one double. The mattress was old and we kept rolling to the middle. The comforter looked dirty so I pulled it back. The carpet was dirty and I didn't take off my shoes until I got in bed. The bathroom was clean and there were abundant cabinets and drawer space. The room had an odor and I remembered why I started taking lysol along with me on my trips. The hotel is in the middle of an industrial park and at first I thought it was a terrible location. It turned out to be close to where we were going and there were sufficient restaurants close by. Overall, I give this hotel a three. I did give the staff a 3 because they were helpful when we asked for directions, etc. This hotel has refrigerators in the room and that's the only place to get ice and the ice maker was turned off when we got there. We had to go back to a filling station for ice. Sorry, but I won't be staying there again.

The hotel is very Clean!

Hotel was perfectly located, with food and entertainment just a walk away (Dave and busters) and shopping at st. John's town center about 10 min. Drive and the beach was about 25 min. drive. Location was also peaceful and quite. As for the hotel, rooms were great we cooked at the hotel alot and saved tons of money. Spent 4 weeks in the queen suite but would have rather gotten the one bedroom suite as it was bigger and better set up. Book early for those they go quick. Hotel was clean and they had free laundry which was also great. They were super friendly and helpful. My only complaint could be the gym was poorly located and very small with very little workout equipment. Other then that this hotel is great and I will most likely be staying here again.

The after hours key box would not open due to misspelling of last name... attendant came out & tried and could not get it open either. Was issued another key by the attendant. The room was excellent and very clean. They ran out of the coffee being advertised as free! Overall I rate this hotel as outstanding!

It was very nice, good workout room, clean rooms and friendly staff.

Before this trip I was unaware that Candlewood suites was set up for long-term stay; I was only there overnight and it wasn't a business hotel. GOOD: Room was large, bed was comfortable, table/desk was adequate for doing some work. Laundry was free, but I didn't need to use it. Candlewood has an innovative check-in for late arrivals; you walk into a small foyer, and there are small safes on a shelf. A label with your first name is on one of them, and it gives you directions on how to open the safe to get your room key inside. Once you have a key you can actually enter the building. A room key is necessary to acces the fitness room & laundry/shopette as well. BAD: There is no breakfast included; they have a small "store" where you can grab some things and microwave them in your room.

large rooms; huge closet for storage; all of the necessary kitchen items; dvd player; super comfy bed...it's the only place we stay at when we go to JAX. This isn't a great place if you don't have a car or if you want quick access to downtown.

Staff was very friendly;the rooms were spacious and clean;the air conditioning was efficient and quiet;the gift shop was well stocked;the location was excellent for what we needed.

The after-hours check-in procedure was pain-free. The hotel lobby and hallways were very clean. The room was the best part: very clean, huge closet, large bathroom with great towels, very comfortable bed, a fabulously stocked kitchenette (with stove, dishwasher, cooking utensils, full-sized fridge with ice maker!!), and great office desk setup. We were both very pleased with this hotel and will likely make it our sole place to stay while in Jacksonville (the price was reasonable as well).
