Crowne Plaza JACKSONVILLE-RIVERFRONT

I had a very good overall experience at this Crowne Plaza Hotel. The room was clean, apart from a small stain on one of the blankets. Space was limited around my "work area" (i.e. the table where my laptop was situated) but this was a 2 bed unit and I suspect there would be more space for the office chair to maneuver in single bed room. We did have an incident with the toilet overflowing which flooded the bathroom, but staff was very responsive and got the problem under control promptly. I believe all units have balcony access which was great for fresh air and lounging without having to leave the room. The fitness room and pool were adequate, and nice to have at our convenience. Ruth's Chris Steakhouse, located on the main level, was an excellent dinner treat. There was also a solid bar and cafe area downstairs, with an excellent breakfast buffet. The location is decent... on the river, and a short walk across the bridge to the Landing (good place for drinks and dining). But downtown Jacksonville has little else to offer, and some of the surrounding areas seem downright dangerous. Front desk staff was courteous and helpful when called upon. All in all, I would be happy to return here.

The staff were excellent! I found the bed to be hard and uncomfortable. The room was clean (even though the closet door was of the track and standing up next to the closet) and the view of the river was great.

Decent stay... Definitely worth the money. Excellent staff. Great views of the river from my room.

Small rooms, nice but slow and unhelpful staff. tiny bathrooms and elevators, but TEMPURPEDIC matresses and good views which make up for some of the down falls. However, without the nice beds and good view, I would have rather stayed at a Holiday Inn Express.

very good friendly staff

This is a pretty nice hotel. It's a little outdated but the beds are very comfortable and the staff is very friendly! The pool is nice, but there isn't much shade. They charge $10 a day for parking which is a little ridiculous. The location is great. It's a quick walk across the bridge to restaurants and bars at the riverwalk. A refrigerator in the room would have been nice, I would have stayed longer if not for that and the parking fee. Instead I switched to another hotel.

The hotel is very nice. The view of the city was great if you are on the river side. The room was clean but the bed was very uncomfortable. Also if you are in the room for any length of time and want T.V. all they have is cable and 1 HBO. No options for any pay per view movies. For the price paid I would have expected more. Also for the price paid you should not have to pay for parking in the hotels parking garage..

Stayed overnight to attend event at the center across the river. Convenient but not really within walking distance. Water taxis did not run late enough to avoid driving. View was great but room was a little musty. Bed was very uncomfortable. Woke with a terrible back ache.

Stayed here for a wedding. Perfect weekend getaway spot with a great view of the Riverfront. The room was clean and so was the rest of the hotel. The only quam is that the shower is not high enough for a person who's taller then 6'3". Other then that, staff was pleasant and efficient. We would definitely stay here again.

My husband I stayed there before a cruise with friends. The jr suite was large but lacked warmth or style. It was outdated & had a tiny bathroom. It was poorly lit/dim. The "Riverview" all though overlooked the river it 1st overlooked the dumpster/kithen&employee parking lot. The staff however were great:warm,friendly&prompt. The price of the room was way too high for such an average hotel.
