Nasty, dirty, uncomfortable

This place was dirty, smelly, there were bugs biting me on the bed--my legs were covered with bites, the bathroom was disgusting, and it's a very unsafe neighborhood despite what the lying front desk clerk and manager claim. Four drunk guys were peeing around the pool, and all the manager and desk clerk could say was We're not babysitters. Someone banged on my door late at night and blocked the peephole, so I didn't say a word or answer, but as a woman alone, I was pretty scared. The next morning someone tried to force entry while I was in the bathroom (and it was NOT housekeeping, as I had a do not disturb sign on my door). The clerk still claimed it was a safe place, but as I learned later from other people, including Jacksonville residents, there have been some nasty robbing and beating incidents at that Days Inn, very recently. The smell in the room was nauseating, and the desk was dirty and sticky. The TV was blurry, the bedspreads were torn and dirty, there were stains on the bed blankets....Need I say more?

The Days Inn in Jacksonville, Florida on Cagle Road needs a total overhaul, this includes staffs. My daughter, husband and myself anticipated staying at the hotel from 7/20/07 to 7/26/07. However, due to the upkeep of the hotel we checked out after one night stay. My husband took our 2-year old daughter swimming and said the pool was so filthy he took her out after 10-minutes. The bathroom was very nasty and needed a deep cleaning. The bathtub was filthy, bathroom floor was dirty, the room smelled like mildew and mold, and the carpet was nasty. We had to call Saturday to request towels and to have our room cleaned. The representative who greeted us upon arrival displayed a very poor attitude and was not pleasant at all. Overall, we were not pleased with our stay at the Days Inn hotel on Cagle Road in Jacksonville, Florida. I'm sure this is not a representation of all Days Inn and I should not generalize. But I ask that someone in top management of the Days Inn corporation go to visit this hotel to identify the problems that we encountered.

THE STAFF AND MANAGEMENT,WERE NOT PROFESSIONAL OR HELPFUL, HOUSEKEEPING WAS VERY DISPLEASING TO ME AND THE MANAGER WAS NOT ON DUTY TO ACCOMADATE MY COMPLAINTS. NOR WAS HE AVAILABLE FOR RESPONSE TO MY COMPLAINT AFTER I LEFT. I MADE A COUPLE OF ATTEMPTS TO REACH HIM AFTER MY STAY AND I HAVE YET TO HEAR FROM HIM.I HAD RESORTED TO CALLING THE CUSTOMER COMPLAINT LINE.
