Super 8 Jacksonville Downtown Area

No bells or wistles but not pricy and friendly staff with clean rooms

Nothing special, but good enough to spend a night at. Internet only worked outside.

The Super 8 was more or less what I expected from a Super 8 - basic, comfortable, no frills. I wish I'd done a little more research regarding the exact location of this Super 8 (there are several throughout Jacksonville) since it was closer to the city than I'd have liked and further from my areas of interest. A simple Google search would have worked in my favor. The staff were all friendly and helpful, from the desk to housekeeping. When I arrived at 11p, it took 3 rooms before the desk clerk was able to find one without a problem - but he was quite courteous throughout and apologized multiple times.

The hotel room was dingy and the floors needed cleaning. My husband was told that the floors were cleaned once every 3 months and it was time for a cleaning. BUT THE WORST - My husband's daughter asked for him at the front desk. The clerk told her, "...well since you know his full name..." and gave my stepdaughter the key to his room (something she had not asked for).

The room was clean and average in my experience. The main complaint I had was with the bathroom. It had a strong musty odor which I assume was originating from the rubber mat in the bathtub. It had apparently not been removed for cleaning underneath for some time. When I lifted it, it had a gummy substance adhering it to the tub. I would not have taken a bath in the tub, only showered. Also the security chain on the outside door was broken, but the deadbolt was sufficient. Desk service was friendly and helpful.

Hotwl is cllse to downtoen Jacsonville, FL. Easy access to many restaurants. Good inexpensive hotel to stay for short business or meeting. Accesible. Friendly staff. Close proximity to San Marcos Square.

No lights in 1st room @ 3am 2nd room-iron & phone didnot work No refrigerator & microwave rooms were not cleaned

It was good.

For the most part the staff was very friendly. At the end of our stay we had a staffer who treated my wife and children in an unfriendly manner. The hotel manager handled the situation immediately and resolved the issue to our satisfaction.

This hotel was not in the downtown area. It was in what appeared to be a bad area. It also seemed as if some unsavory actions were taking place. [...]We did not feel safe and decided to try another facility.
