Bentley Hotel South Beach

What a huge disappointment! There was full exposure to passersby without the draperies fully closed on all windows. Our room overlooked a tower of sparse and sick plants and the area below us was the back entrance to a restaurant which stayed open most of the day and night. Deliveries to the restaurant were in the wee hours of the morning as was the trash removal. There was a lot of noise made by the housekeeping staff in the early hours as well. We moved to another hotel the next day.

Thought it might be noisy and out of control, but turned out to be a comfortable quiet stay.

Highlights: - located right on Ocean Drive--but at the south end, so it's not too noisy - rooftop pool and hot tub (but only until 9pm) - very comfortable bed - free wireless - only slightly unpleasant aspect are thin ceilings; couldn't hear our next door neighbors, but could hear people walking around over us.

We stayed for night at the Bentley, we checked in and our room was great right on the corner of Ocean Drive-we had a nice big wrap around balcony. We went to the beach came back and the front desk guy said our credit card didn't go through when we checked in, we gave him the card again and asked what he did with the first slip that he had us sign, he said he tore it up (our mistake in believing him), when we got home we had 2 charges for the room, we called the credit card company and they had 2 swipes, 2 signatures, therefore they could not cancel one of the charges so we paid for the room 2x-it costs us double for one night!!! Needless to say everytime I tried to call the hotel and get it rectified they would not answer my call or return my message, most likely the same front desk guy who swiped the card in the first place!! I must admit the hotel was nice but I guess for double the price it should be.

Loved this hotel! Room was clean, comfortable and the little kitchenette in our room was great for helping to save a bit of money on snacks and drinks (as long as you stay away from the mini bar!). Continental breakfast was sparse but a nice option. Location is PERFECT, right on the main strip across from Loomis Park, parking was expensive and you won't need a car if you are just going to be spending time in/around the Miami Beach. Staff was friendly and helpful, rooftop sundeck and pool were perfect. Beach access is right across the street or you can go to their beach club which is about 4 blocks away and have a chair/cabana for the day. Can't wait to go back!

Upon arriving, the hotel was a lot smaller than expected. This is on the section of Ocean Drive will a lot of restaurants along the street. All of the host/hostesses of the restuarants harrass you about coming to their restaurant. Even the hostess at the restaurant "attached" to the Bentley was in our face about eating there when we clearly had our bags and were going to the hotel. When checking in they gave me a bill for $29 ($25 + tax) for a "resort fee" which included a towel and a chair at the pool and I didn't catch what else. I told them there was no mention of an additional fee and I didn't want to pay, which the hotel worker let me know the fee was "mandatory" I told them I wouldn't be paying and asked for a manager, who did waive the fee. When we got to the room both of the windows were broken and would not shut. Considering there is a ledge right outside the window we called the front desk and they had to send mainanence to fix both of the windows. The window in the bedroom was clearly broken and wouldn't even shut all of the way, which makes me think they knew it was broken and did nothing about it or don't take care of the rooms that well and didn't catch that a window was wide open and couldn't be shut. I've never been to Miami beach before so can't compare to other hotels in the area. South Beach to me really had a "Hollywood" feel, meaning there were a ton of souveneir shops and places selling "rolexes", the restaurant hostesses harrass you like you were in Tijuana, and it just wasn't very clean.

Loved the room, the staff, and the short walk to all the restaurants and the beach. Really enjoyed the private beach area and the cabanas.

very relaxing after a long flight to miami, everything nearby.The hotel itself is an oasis in a busy and entertaining surrounding. very nice roof top pool with view to the ocean.

I booked a 1 bedroom suite but I received a 1 bedroom efficiency. The air conditioning did not work but fortunately the weather was cool. the cable television did not work so I called the front desk for assistance. The desk clerk informed me that see was new to the job and did not know the procedure to get the cable operational. I phoned the cable provide and got the problem resolved. There was construction work in the area behind the hotel and they began work at 8:00 a.m. Friday and Saturday. Because the air conditioning was broken we had to open the window for ventilation. The location of the hotel was fabulous but they can need to pay attention to details.
