Quick Business trip

The hotel, although under construction, was clean, the service was excellent, and the location perfect for our needs. Parking was expensive, and slow to collect the car, but under the building situation, understandable. Perfectly enjoyable trip.

National Hotel was excellent!

I've been to the National before and this is always my first choice when travelling to South Beach. Get a Cabana Room! Don't stay in the main hotel building, the elevators are annoying. The cabana rooms are amazing! We never eat or drink at the hotel, the cost is expensive. But the poolside and beachside service is fantastic! The hotel next door sounded like they were partying every night, which made us jealous because we couldn't go. But overall for price, location and service, The National is the only hotel I stay at in South Beach.

Never book in historic part of hotel

Rooms are very old, small and unimpressive. Stick with Cabana rooms which have evidently been modernized. Breakfast buffet excellent, Pool Outstanding, Great Access to beach

Great time in Miami!

We made reservations for an ocean view room in the main tower. Upon arrival, we could tell there was a moldy smell in the room. If you have allergies/sinus issues, this room is not for you! We ended up calling the front to upgrade to the cabana guestroom which was absolutely wonderful! Unlike the main tower, the cabana guestrooms have tile flooring (the main tower rooms have carpet which made our allergies worse) and have been completely renovated. We slept well and the bed was super comfortable. The staff members were very nice, especially Yeison at the front desk and Maria who was our waitress each day at the hotel restaurant. The pool is great and the hotel is within walking distance to shopping and the beach. Overall, we had a great time!

An excellent stay

On my first night in an ocean view room a small flood occurred - the cause unknown. Without hesitation I was upgraded by the manager to a cabana suite with complimentary breakfast and late checkout thrown in. The service continued to be excellent for my whole stay. I would recommend the National to anyone, single travellers, families and people on business. The close proximity to Lincoln avenue is a bonus. I would stay again but would now want to stay in one of the cabana rooms!
