No-No-No- Don't stay here

Do yourself a favor: don't stay here. Bad costumer service. No towels in our room! we called and it took them at least 45 minutes to bring us the towels. Also, no sheets! broken light bulbs, broken coffee maker. We decided to try the breakfast and it was very expensive and bad. Staff wasn't nice, very rude.

horrible hotel experience

this was the worst hotel I have ever stayed at. I didn't check because it was already paid for. These were the smallest rooms I have ever seen. No towels in the bathroom, no desk, no coffee. There was only one computer for the entire hote which could not open Adobe files, had no printer to print boarding pass. No restaurant on the premises, the bar only had one bottle of each item. They imported food from a restaurant down the sstreet. I order an antipasta which came with no bread or condiments. The bill had a 15% gratituty already on it. The elevator from the bar area only took you down to the pool, it did not work to return you back upstairs, once down there, you had to walk around the complex to get back to the front to get an elevator back upstairs. I had to get three rroms changes before I could get a decent room. You had to pay for garage and resort fees dailly. Who ever appoved this property should be fired. I deserve a full refund for this experience.

Nice Staff; Hotel Lacks Comfort

Staff - Extremely friendly and willing to assist Room - Very small!! The bed and nightstand were both one foot off the floor. It was like the room of a 5 year old. No iron. One small bar of soap. No kitchen in the hotel. No microwave or fridge in a king room. Hidden fee - Was not aware of a mandatory service charge of $15 per day. Beach Chairs - Could not get beach chairs until 9:30. All other hotel put theirs out at 8. Will not visit Sole again.

Birthday Get-away

Great Location. Lousy Hotel. The room was tacky and the room lighting was something out of a 60's movie. The best part of the room was the ocean view. Hotel registration was something you expected at a third-rate motel. We'll take your credit card hold for $150.00 incidentals (of course) but don't ask for a list of local restaurants, or expect prompt housekeeping service. Next time, we'll spend a little more for the far better hotels in the area.

Not a good experience

Front desk staff was very unfriendly - haven't heard a 'welcome to Sole', 'thank you for your business', 'can we do anything for you' even once. Definitely never smiled at any of the guests. Many people at the front desk with problems (toilet not working, room is too small, reservation was wrong, etc). We had to call to request towels, housekeeping services, etc... (they assisted us right away, but it should be a given in a 'fancy' hotel to find towels in your room). Hotel charges a $15 resort fee a day, even if on Monday and Tuesday there were no benches, towels, pool bar or any of the amenities included on the resort fee. Hotel 'welcome letter' indicates that the room was luxuriously appointed, so if you choose to steal anything your card will be charged for that. Nice (I mean, they are NOT a interstate motel to have to write that to their guests). You pay for extra coffee pods in the room. Sauna was great at night, but when I went there were towels tossed on the floor in the morning. Hotel is clearly understaffed. We did not eat breakfast there, but it was available (did not look great or worthy the price) Juts go across the street to a great gourmet market. Location is excellent if you are looking for a quiet time on the beach (like we were). If you are looking for dining out and going out, do not stay in Sunny Isle - there is absolutely nothing to do here. Hotel bar is very expensive ($10 for a Heineken in a plastic cup), but bartender is very nice. Room is VERY small and the bed was very uncomfortable! Bathroom was nice and the view was great, even on the city view room. For the money, you can do better.

For meals, coffee or snacks, go to the Epicurous Market just across the street - great food and service.

Sole on Ocean, Miami, Fl

Have stayed at few places in Miami. Sole is missing good management and that special touch! Room has balcony but no chairs. Room has kitchen with glassware but no paper towels or dish washing liquid whereas the bathroom has tissues, soap, hair dryer, etc. Room had no latch on door to prevent entrance when guests are in room. Room was too dark. Remote not working well. Room access card not working well. Had to replace 3 times during 5 night stay. Breakfast not impressive. Self serve but they automatically add a tip/service charge. Positive Note - Parking attendants very nice & very responsive! Worked hard to get guests' cars.

Great location with some disappointments

Went to enjoy 5 days at the beach. We had a king oceanview suite. Small balcony with no furniture. First night the bed had no mattress pad. After requesting that, we seemed to have a random number of towels brought in each day. No washcloths, one hand towel, two bath towels. One day we received 3 bath towels. Nothing else. There was dirt around the molding in the bathroom. The bed sheets were all flat sheets and came out each night. It was a wrinkled mess in the morning. Pool bar, Jose and Luis were outstanding. Great customer service with valets too.

could be better

When I got there I found out there was valet, and that was good but the charge was not included in the orig. price. While checking in, the lady at the front dest informed me there would be an extra $15 charged per day for the use of the spa area, and the towels available on the beach. The room was really clean and the view was half of what I was expecting. There was no chair on the balcony, it was unwelcoming and the sound of traffic overwhelmed the sound of the beach. I did get two free drinks at the outdoor pool/bar and they were really yummy. The Breakfast was awesome and the chef was very friendly and helpful with planning my day. The breakfast was not included either, so it ended up being a $25 continental breakfast with a veggie omelet on the side. I tried three times to order roomservice the first night and was met with obsticles the entire time. First, the menu was outdated, so I asked for a new one along with a menu of their spa services and extra water for my room. $18 for 4 waters. and there was no menu for the spa services. When I called down for a salad off of their new menu, it felt like they were trying to convince me not to order anything at that (almost closing) time. They put me on hold and three transfers later I got my salad 2 minutes before 10pm, when they close. All tips are included with everything you order which makes life simpler, but a 30% tip is a lot more than what I would agree they deserve. The next day I ordered a scented massage. It was lovely if you are not a prude in any way. The room I was in was facing another hotel and I really hope the window was a one way mirror cause somebody may have got a view of me while getting ready. The lady working on me was very professional, and I found out that this service was one of the only things not part of the Hotel. I paid cash becuse I was unable to charge it to my room. That was a suprise to me. The cherry on top was when I realized I left my book in the room while I was at the airport. I doubt I will see it again. I seemed to have caught them at a transitional phase. The location was great, food was really yummy, bathroom was dangerous.... I'm guessing it was a 2.5 foot deep bathtub. Kinda hard to keep your balance while getting out. It wasn't the worst experience I've ever had, I just felt weighed down with all the extra hidden charges. I'm sure I paid about $100 more than I anticipated.

There is a little dock down the road where they sell half or full day fishing trips. Not too far from the hotel.
