Upstairs, the most spacious guest rooms in South Beach average 600 square feet, most with unobstructed ocean views. The decor combines charcoal-gray suede walls with splashes of magenta and teal and playful pinup photos from the 1930s and 40s.
High-tech perks range from wireless Internet and fax lines to DVD-CD players, 40-inch Sony flat-screen televisions, PlayStation3, Sony Dream System stereos, and iPod docks.
The stylish, high-tech ambience continues in 45,000 square feet of function space, including a 6,500-square-foot ballroom and six state-of-the-art meeting rooms. Outdoor gatherings take place at the 10,000-square-foot Ocean Terrace; the Beach Club's tri-level, 40,000-square-foot tropical pool deck and dining oasis or the Rooftop, an 18-story-high retreat with a 22,000-square-foot deck, a 110-foot-long pool, and its own bar and lounge. The Perry South Beach Hotel is undergoing exciting new improvements! During this time, the improvements will be restricted to the exterior facade (guest room balcony)and parking garage. Scaffolding is in place in areas around the perimeter of our property and there will be noise disturbances from 8AM-6PM, Monday - Friday, and could be scheduled to take place on Saturday and Sunday. Gorgeous, but...

Potential to become a 5 star hotel.
Positives: Spacious, wonderfully designed rooms with pool/beach views. Magnificent rooftop pool, doesnt get any better. Lobby has a very neat shark tank. Ate at STK steakhouse, probably the best steak I've ever had, with delicious sauce and a tasty mojito. Strawberry margerita on the rocks at the pool are wondeful. Left an item in my room after check-out which they generously retrieved for me. Great place overall but had a few drawbacks. Negatives: So confusing trying to figure out parking, must valet that they charge you $38 for without notifying you. Front desk gave me a 'complimentary upgrade' that turned out to be an occupied room (scary experience, luckily the guests werent in their room), all they did was say sorry and moved me to a lower floor. Room had an insect in it. And I don't know what was worse, the noise from the construction workers or their gawks. There is a 20% gratuity automatically added to your bill when you order food/drinks.

this hotel was under construction
This hotel was under construction. I was unable to sleep the whole time i was there. Also there were charges for every little thing. In my opinion they were petty as well as rude.

Great hotel but under renovation
Great location right on the ocean. Largest rooms on south beach. Hotel is undergoing mega renovation and will be the it hotel when done. For now, enjoy the renovation specials

Construction!
Was warned about construction, but it was worse than anticipated. Jackhammers at 7:30am. Dirt and dust all around. Looks like it will be nice but it's not now.

Romantic Gateway
Perfect romantic gateway. Got upgraded into a junior 1B suite. Everything was perfect except there was construction on the other side of the building and the fire alarm went off in the morning for construction, false alarm!

NOT A 5* HOTEL
I didnt enjoy my stay at all. The room didnt look very clean, the towels were very very cheap quality, the staff was really bad ( it took them about 25min to bring to the room another towel). They are a 3 or 4 star hotel . I should have stayed in another hotel .

Deal with construction
The Gansevoort, now the Perry is where my friend's and I stayed this past weekend. I received a deal while booking due to the construction going on in the hotel. It was not really a bother as they did not construct on the weekends, howeber the balcony & and rooftop pool were both unaccessible during this time which was a bummer. Overall it is a very ice hotel, but I would probaby not stay there during their construction...but would love to when they are finished.

Nice Place Undergoing Renovation
Stayed here last year when it went by another name, and had a good experience, so decided to give it another try. It is currently undergoing renovation, and I would not recommend staying here until it is finished. Jackhammering from 9-5 weekdays, and the rooftop bar and pool are both closed. If you are offsite during the week, or down by the beach it is an ok place to stay at. Very convenient location.

worst experience ever
Booked because I wanted the best. It was suppose to be 5 stars. I was willing to spend whatever it took to have the best. I was suppose to have full ocean view. My view was of construction and trees. When I asked to be switched to a room with a view I was told that if I could go on the balcony I would be able to see the ocean. Then I was told there was no other rooms. They said the rest of the rooms were residential, and this is a monday. I would hate to see a weekend. After trying to deal with the worst start to a vacation ever, I decide to only stay for one night seeing it is already 2a.m. Can it get worse oh yes, 8a.m. jackhammers right on top of my room. Will they do anything.......no, but they did offer earplugs. How about my money back or a discount, no. Worst hotel ever, can't believe this site even allows this hotel on there site not to mention 5 stars, what a joke. The evening staff was very kind but the daytime staff was beyond unhelpful.
