The hotel is OK...but the shuttle stinks!!!!
Please do not rely on the shuttle service...They say they have a shuttle, but then they did not mention that it runs only once a day to these parks...
and that too for universal and Seaworld way too late...
The universal shuttle is scheduled at 9:20, but never shows up before 9:45-50...
The seaworld is scheduled at 10:40 in the morning..r u kidding me?? the park open at 9:00
And on the day we wanted to go to seaworld, the shuttle did not even come...we waited till 11:15 and finally had to take out car..( luckily we had rented a car as well..) The front desk has not idea how the or who to contact for the shuttle whereabouts...they were like.. I am calling transportation, but then they had no idea who the driver was and who they were to contact....
we literally ended up wasting 3 hrs...( as by the time with the parking we reached the park at 12:00)
It really stinks with that.....

Great Location, Near Universal and International Drive...Also, within a couple of blocks they have these really tall rides that sling you into the sky...the rooms are nice...if you're planning a trip with another family or couple you might want to consider getting the "bigger suite", it's literally 2 separate one bedroom suites with totally separate doors with individual keys...will probably save money if you split that cost., instead of booking the two separately. Don't go for the breakfast buffett -- definitely overpriced, the scrambled eggs are bad for sure. Plenty of places to get snacks, meals , etc nearby. No snack machines in the place so stock up. There's a fridge and plenty of plates and silverware in the rooms. parking is very good...you'll be charged an extra $12 (inc tax) per day for parking and internet and exercise, pool, etc, whether you use it or not, but that seems a reasonable price...and the value of the rooms is really good, considering location and how decent the place is overall.

Everything was great, except for the front desk staff. They were indifferent and not helpful. Tried to check in early, they said the room hadn't been used in a while and should only be a short time and they would call. 5 1/2 hours later we came came back, no one ever called! No apologies, didn't even make eye contact with us.

The condo was beautiful and very spacious. Perfect for a family to stay and have the ability to cook a few meals in. Great location next to grocery store and restaurants, plus short distance to all major theme parks. Would recommend Vista Cay, nice pool too!

The tv didnt work in one of the rooms I was in. the bolt on the door wasnt screwed in right so it didnt work. Though, it was good for a one night stay.

The price was fine, the location way good, and the staff was helpful.
But, the room was dirty, cracked toilet that always ran. Smoke stains from cigarettes on the walls. The bathtub had hair in it, the bathroom floors need to be swept and mopped. It was disgusting.
I think if you can, pay more and go somewhere else.

I stayed here for a convention which was at the convention center attached to the hotel and it couldnt have been any easier. the snack shop thing serves brand name well known coffee and the food is pretty good too. davids place serves amazing cheeseburgers. and the other bar had a nice piano playing. out back is a sweet pool and fire pits to chill at in the evening. I like this hotel

For the money you pay, it is worth it. Do not expect the room to be very clean...check your bed sheet before you jump into a bed. You may find something(s) you may not want...such as someone else hair...I found it twice!

I was dissapointed to learn that the rate of some $80 per night did not include free WiFi. As a person that travels frequently and needs to stay in touch via internet, this meant a lack of value for dollar. I understood later that most of the other hotels in the area do not include it either. Maybe that means I should just bypass Orlando altogether for travel when it comes to getting value for my money.

The world-famous Peabody Ducks perform their twice daily March at 11 AM and 5 PM. The only suttle offeres is to disney land and the shuttl is not beloned to the hotel which is part of the mears transportation. As to the others, u have to go by taxi or have ur own car.

There are a lot of amenities at this hotel. The hotel is well appointed and clean. The staff was responsive and courteous. It is not far from area theme parks and from the airport. The hotel is a bit too large and there was a long line at check in. The food in the onsite diner was less than average.

I have no complaints about the hotel. It is nice, clean and in a nicer part of the convention center area. Lots of good restaurants nearby and about 2 miles from Universal Studios, which is what we were there for. It wasn't overrun with children and the breakfast was nice.

The combination, price and location for the Orlando convention center is great. Close to the restaurants at the Point is walking distance as well.
The staff was very friendly. For a stay where you use the hotel for sleep only this hotel is good. Breakfast could be a lot better, but with the price I paid you can not expect more.

Quiet and exclusive family getaway

Our family experience was extraordinary. What was most important to us was the cleanliness. We have stayed in three different resorts in Orlando and this was by far the best. It was also very quiet and a good place to come to relax and rest. The rooms were very spacious and the appliances were like new. I will definitely return to this resort. The location was excellent. Many different places to eat.

great retreat for winter

Our stay at the Waldorf Astoria Orlando was a great getaway from the early winter northern cold. The hotel staff were very helpful and friendly throughout our stay. We did not eat much at the hotel, but they had a few good menus (moderately expensive ) to choose from. Your Lounge Bar is a great place to get an evening drink before dinner. The Athletic club was clean and has a great selection of equipment. The heated pool was great but the cooler days kept us out of the water.
The transportation to Disney theme parks was excellent; The Hilton/Waldorf has its own bus. Transportation to non-Disney resorts is the visitors responsibility. If you have a car, self parking is $13/day ( clock starts each time you go in and out) and valet is $20/day (plus tips ).
One thing for the hotel is to ask if you want feather free rooms. This hotel uses both feather mattress pads and pillows, and we did not know this upon check in. The Midnight desk person was unaware nonfeather options and it took most of the day and another call to get our bedding changed to feather free.
Overall, this was a great off-season retreat. There were very few children at his time of year, but I suggest that the hotel segregate families with children to limit the noise between rooms. Customers should be offered a floor option without children.

This hotel has a very friendly and helpful staff. Breakfast which is included is average, there are enough tables to sit at if you get there early,the 9am time is crowded. The rooms are clean and beds are very comfortable. The hall carpeting is worn out and needs to be replaced. The location is very close to Universal Studios. We walked there our first night and it took about half hour. The complimentary shuttles to Universal and Disney were on time.

when we checked in the attendant was cold and unfriendly. the hotel room was shabby, the air condintion unit was hanging partly on the floor the shower head fall off the bed was squeeky there was no microwave in the room, no coffee maker the towels so so hard the child would cry just by wiping him down..................but when we checked out the attendant was pleasant and friendly.

The staff at this hotel are very accomodating. The only downfall is that it seems like it isn't in a great location on the weekends. We saw a lot of police and people being arrested on the weekend. We also had 5 bus loads of teenagers when we arrived and it was a total zoo in the atrium. Once the weekend was over, the hotel was wonderful and the crime seemed to settle down as well. Very nice place for families that appreciate a suite. This hotel has it all. Free breakfast, microwave, refrigerator, and a managers reception each night with snacks and beverages. Nice pools (inside and outside) and a great hot tub. Valet parking is available if you prefer it.

The staff makes Wyndam Grand Orlando a pleasure to stay!

As this hotel just opened in Oct 2011, some issues are to be expected. However, the staff at this hotel are wonderful (with the EXCEPTION of their house keeping staff which were absolutely horrible - our room was half cleaned on one day and not cleaned at all on another day! They sited the reason for not cleaning was because they ran out of clean sheets!!!). In particular we like to note Lisa at front desk made our check in fast, efficient and was very helpful in answering all our queries. Tim, the manager of in room dining went out of his way to provide extra assistance to us for our baby bottle sanitizing needs. All the concierge at the hotel was extremely helpful in assisting with directions, tickets, restaurant recommendations, and planning of our stay in Orlando. The location of the hotel was also very convenient to all Disney World parks and attractions.

We only needed a room for one night, before meeting family for a week at a resort in the area. The hotel shuttle arrived after a phone call to the hotel. You must have the phone number with you to call since the airport does not have a direct line to the hotel for the shuttle. The staff were very nice and helpful. It was quiet and the room was comfortable and clean. Just what we needed after traveling all day.

Hardrock best place for Universal Studios

Reservations were easy, the room was comfortable, the water shuttle to Universal were right outside the door, the valet staff were responsive and a pleasure to work with, the concierge was helpful and friendly. The only downside was a rude clerk in the Hardrock gift shop. Overall very good stay.

Great hotel and the front of the line room cards are great too! But with prices already sky high at the hotel and Universal, being charged for internet and parking, and the gym are too much! Almost twenty bucks for breakfast per person??
The rooms are attractive and the Keurig coffee maker really was a nice touch! Two sinks help getting ready in the morning. Eating in the park for 5 people cost us eighty bucks! Ouch! Bring lots of money!

Pros- very affordable, very clean, hospitable staff, close walk to theme parks and city walk, beautiful well manicured grounds with a nice pool, early park entry!, wifi access for free in lobby, big and comfortable beds, access to exercise room, 1.3 mile walk to Walgreens and liquor store for treats.
Cons- extra costs for a microwave or small fridge and room wifi was kinda nickel and dime. Corporate meeting place (If you're the type of person that doesn't pay mind to your surroundings this may not bother you. I am on vacation to enjoy a sunny, stressfree beautiful experience and get away from work).
Overall, I truly enjoyed my stay and would definitely return.

Although the hotel was in the middle of construction there was still a great experience available. The poolside experience with bar, food and fire was great. There is free shuttles to disney parks which was perfect for me. Clean and comfortable. Very attentive.

Our Florida Experience

We arrived at the Sheraton Safari Hotel when it was named, "Sher on" because 2 letters in the lighted sign were not working. That should have been a clue as to what would come next. Our room looked fine and we settled in. As I walked barefoot to the bed, I found the carpet to be wet. Closer to the air conditioner it got really soggy. We pulled the bed skirts up to keep them from getting wet during the night and told the front desk about the situation 1st thing in the morning. Actually, morning came a little sooner than we expected, when the hydraulic lift platform rose outside our window with the beep-beep-beep alarm sound. The 2 missing letters were being repaired bright and early. We were given a different room with a dry carpet. After re-locating, we went to the lobby for a doughnut and coffee (neither of which were complimentary). They do serve a large buffet breakfast ($11.95pp), but we're light eaters and had no refrigerator in our room for left-overs, so didn't attempt that. The noise in the lobby was horrendous! The hotel is undergoing extensive rennovation and all the windows in one wing were being smashed to remove them. We took our doughnuts and returned to our room. Before we left to explore Universal Studios Adventure Island, there was an emergency evacuation of the entire hotel because a construction worker accidentally nicked a wire or something. The fire truck arrived and certified that everything was OK and we returned to our room. While the desk staff was accomodating and sympathetic about any inconvenience to us, it appears that these occurances are typical and part of their ordinary day. I had looked forward to splashing in the pool, but was told by another guest that the heaters had been turned off and the water was so chilly she couldn't stay in long. Oh, well... Our trip to the amusement park was great. The sun was out and we had a great day. We became accustomed to the construction noise in the hotel and learned to leave early and stay out all day. That's not hard to do in the Orlando area! there was a sign in the lobby that said we would receive some kind of "free nights" certificate good in 2012 because of the construction occuring during our stay. When we check out, there was no paperwork because our stay was pre-paid as part of a package. Consequently there was no certificate. It doesn't really matter, because I doubt we will be going back to Florida again next year. We live in Washington State and that's a long trip.
I had expected better of a Sheraton brand name hotel. It was an OK experience, but I wouldn't recommend this as a vacation spot to relax in. It's just a sleeping place.
