An arcade and heated pool heighten its appeal.

Rooms

Floor-to-ceiling windows showcase one of the hotel's best attributes: proximity to Universal Orlando. Rooms leave theme park kitsch to the theme parks, however, favoring grown-up furniture, bold contemporary prints in neutral tones of blue of beige, and sleek work desks and media cabinets. Guests unwind in luxury. Rooms boast Sweet Dreams plush-top king or queen beds, a 32-inch flat-screen TV and Neutrogena bath products. Doubletree Hotel at the Entrance to Universal Orlando hotel guests also access Wi-Fi for a fee.

Dining
Even with a packed itinerary, guests at the Doubletree Hotel at the Entrance to Universal Orlando hotel always make room in their schedule for Starbucks (on-site) and the other restaurants for breakfast, lunch a dinner. For true local flavor, try Floribean-inspired dishes at Rio-themed Carnivale (think raw bar and succulent grilled dishes). And the Pizza Hut and Krispy Kreme in the Palm Court Deli cannot be denied.

Recreation

Universal Orlando is within walking distance to the hotel, but just in case guests want to try other theme parks, free scheduled shuttles operate to SeaWorld, Discovery Cove and Wet N' Wild. Back at the Doubletree Hotel at the Entrance to Universal Orlando hotel, a heated pool and Jacuzzi beckons on warm days, which in Orlando, are a pretty sure bet.

Overpriced rooms overpriced bars. Plenty of other options nearby

I would only stay here again if my employer was footing the bill. It seems like this place is price for business travel only. $7.80 for a Budlight at the bar? No thanks. The grounds / pool / etc are not nice enough to justify the cost.

Fun haunted house weekend

My boyfriend and I needed a place to stay near Universal so we could walk there and back during the Halloween Haunted houses this October. We had a great experience at the Doubletree. Lovely room and bathroom, great shower, could have used more towels as we showered in the afternoon and didn't ask for them to be resupplied, so we had to re-use them in the morning. More our fault than the hotel's, and not a big deal.

Great stay! Would definitely return and recommend!

We stayed 4 days and 5 nights and enjoyed our stay. There were several great amenities that the hotel offered. This hotel was in a great location to Universal Studios (walking distance: 10-15 min) and down the street from Wet N Wild. Also in great proximity to local restaurants and shops. Suttles, taxis and trolley available for those that do not rent vehicles.

Great time had by me and the wife

The location of this hotel is perfect for what we wanted to do, which was visit the Universal Studios parks. Just a short 15 minute walk away from the parks (or you can take a free shuttle if you want), we had a good time even just walking from the hotel to the park, since neither of us had been in Orlando before, and we got to see a little bit of it along the way. The staff was very friendly (helping me when I forgot my room key in the room, offering to call for us a shuttle for the day we were checking out, etc) and there was always someone at the desk to help you out if you needed something. I've been to hotels (on this same trip) where I had to wait 5 minutes before anyone would even appear behind the counter. Great onsite food, as well as being surrounded by some good restaurants and fast food places, it's a perfect spot to grab something to eat. The only thing I wish it has was a free shuttle to and from the hotel. Cab rides and airport shuttles can get very pricey.

The Citywalk at the entrance to Universal Studios was awesome. We were too tired from going around the parks all day to partake in much of it, but there was tons to do there and lots of people about.

Walking Distance to Universal

15 minute walk with older kids to the gates at Universal parks. Shuttle is available. View of the parks rooms are available but you will not see much. I wouldn't pay more for them. Room and amenities are great for adults and families. Cookies are always a treat. Parking is expensive since it is so close to the parks.

Nice location and staffs

If you are planning to go to the Universal studio, this is the best place to stay. There are walgreens and some restaurants nearby. The staff who dealt our check-in was very considerate, our room was first in the 2nd flr by chosen of the system, the staff found that the view of our room might not be so good and she changed our room to 16 flr with a nice view without any extra charge.
