Floor-to-ceiling windows showcase one of the hotel's best attributes: proximity to Universal Orlando. Rooms leave theme park kitsch to the theme parks, however, favoring grown-up furniture, bold contemporary prints in neutral tones of blue of beige, and sleek work desks and media cabinets. Guests unwind in luxury. Rooms boast Sweet Dreams plush-top king or queen beds, a 32-inch flat-screen TV and Neutrogena bath products. Doubletree Hotel at the Entrance to Universal Orlando hotel guests also access Wi-Fi for a fee.

Dining
Even with a packed itinerary, guests at the Doubletree Hotel at the Entrance to Universal Orlando hotel always make room in their schedule for Starbucks (on-site) and the other restaurants for breakfast, lunch a dinner. For true local flavor, try Floribean-inspired dishes at Rio-themed Carnivale (think raw bar and succulent grilled dishes). And the Pizza Hut and Krispy Kreme in the Palm Court Deli cannot be denied.

Recreation

Universal Orlando is within walking distance to the hotel, but just in case guests want to try other theme parks, free scheduled shuttles operate to SeaWorld, Discovery Cove and Wet N' Wild. Back at the Doubletree Hotel at the Entrance to Universal Orlando hotel, a heated pool and Jacuzzi beckons on warm days, which in Orlando, are a pretty sure bet.

Double tree universal

Bed was nice and comfortable. Couch had multiple weird stains. Staff was quite rude. Transportation to universal stopped at 8:30. Do not think we will be staying there again.

HHN 2014

Great location, close to USF and IOA. Room was not ready when we checked in and we did not get a call or text to let us know when it was. No big deal since we walked over to City Walk and had a meal and then we did HHN until late. Free cookies were warm and delicious! Room was clean and comfortable. Highly recommend.

Definite Return Stay

I had stayed in the location many years ago and I liked it then. Since DoubleTree by Hilton has it now this location is perfect for a low priced getaway across the street from Universal Studios. We love the area it is in the neighborhoods surrounding Universal are very nice and there are many shopping opportunities off the tourist trap avenues. The hotel was clean and comfortable. The only knock we had was that the mattress was not as comfy as a true Hilton Hotel mattress. Our room was kept clean during our stay and we ran into no issues. The pizza from the Uno Express in the courtyard was very good. All of the staff that we came in contact with were very professional, happy, and courteous. We will no doubt stay here again.

Nice hotel

My husband and I only spent one night here during our trip to Universal Studios, and we had very few complaints overall. The shuttle to the theme park left early both days, so we missed them, which was unfortunate, but the park is only a few minute walk away. The room was decently outdated, but was very clean. Overall, it was a good experience.

Good location for Universal visitors

We were not given cookies upon arrival! There is a free shuttle that goes to Universal at certain times. The rooms are big and spacious , even though there is a smell present. Nice view if you are facing Universal, at night you can see the fireworks.

Dining tip: In Hotel

There is a breakfast buffet at the hotel. It has a good variety and good quality of food. You will be charged 18% gratuity, so do not be surprised how nice the servers are for no reason.

Birthday getaway

This place was in a great location to universal studios. Down side is the rooms are out dated and our bathtub was clogged and the hallways smelled moldy and old. But other than that the hotel staff was helpful and friendly you pretty much get what you paid for.

Decent Vacation Stay

This was a decent stay. The hotel was nice enough and about what I expected at the price. Nothing more nothing less. Starbucks in the hotel was nice but they don't take gift cards so you aren't able to earn points at this location. Stayed at the Royal Pacific one night and this hotel was about the same if you are rating strictly on the room and hotel at a fraction of the cost. My only main problem was that I was charged double for charges I'm still waiting to hear back on. When I checked out I was told that there was nothing on my bill and then I found out that I am charged $130 extra. Not sure where that comes from. So be careful with them.

Use the Universal Parking garage walkways. They have moving walkways so it's not nearly as bad of a walk.

Okay hotel

This hotel is definitely a great location! However, there were scuffs on the wall, we had to get our own towels, wash cloths, etc. from the front desk after getting in at 1am. The room was pretty empty, but it was big and it was nice to have the space. It is nice that the hotel has restaurants, but be careful! We spent $50 for a breakfast buffet that was no more extraordinary than what you could get as a complimentary breakfast at any other cheaper hotel. I guess the price is to be expected for the location, but they put the tip on the bill that you could easily miss if you are not paying attention and no one really deserves a tip for the lack of work they do when you order the buffet.

Many Moons at DoubleTree

I have been coming to this location since I was a child! While it's "name" has changed, the quality of service, location, and options within its walls remain unmatched in Orlando. Across the street from Universal, and only a 20 minute drive from all that Disney offers, this hotels proximity to everything ORLANDO makes it THE best place to stay. The rates are very affordable, considering what all is offered, and the facilities and staff are great. Renovated a few years back, everything is kept clean and in good order. The Starbucks in the lobby is a huge plus for me. I am always with friends when I stay, but there are tons of families there as well, so the DoubleTree covers whichever side of the coin you're on. My only "complaint" is the $12 per night parking fee, but it's something that's always been there. To make up for it, you get a free amazeballs cookie and free Wi-Fi, so it kind of all comes out in the wash. I refuse to stay anywhere else in O-Town, regardless of what they offer. The area is safe, the location is clean, the staff is friendly, the Starbucks is fresh brewed.

The hotel offers a shuttle to Universal! Check with the concierge for shuttle times, but it's a GREAT way to save yourself the parking fees. Plus - you can rest on your way back!
