Can't wait to go back

The hotel location is worth far more than we paid. The prime beach spot was perfect for our lazy vacation. You can walk to the beach or to great shops and restaurants in just a few minutes. The location is really what adds to the hotel's value. We walked to dinner every night and walked around St. Armond's circle and looked at the shops or got ice cream every day. It made our hotel feel more like home, and made our vacation feel so relaxed. The beach by the hotel has made the top beaches in the nation list on multiple occassions. The powder-sugar-like-sand is unreal. The staff was friendly, and the breakfast in the upstairs restaurant was pretty good, not too pricey for a hotel restaurant, and the view from the top floor (where the restaurant is located) is outstanding! However, if you are looking for any real amenities, like nice room service menu, a fancy bathroom, jacuzzi tub, etc. This is not the place for you. The hotel is clean and nice, but nothing special or fancy about it. If you want a laid-back experience where you can be yourself and feel comfortable in your swimsuit and towel but still stay in a nice hotel, then this place will be perfect.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

The shops and restaurants in St. Armond's circle are great for a nightly stroll or a daily shopping spree. BEWARE OF OVERPRICED RESTAURANTS. Most places were great and reasonable considerring it is south FL, it's on the coast, and it's a common tourist attraction, so things are usually slightly more pricey. AVOID Tommy Bahama's restaurant. I've heard the food is good, but $25 for a chicken and pasta dish and $40 for steak is crazy in this location. The Columbia is one of the most famous restaurants in Sarasota. Their food is far superior, less pricey, and way more authentic. Plus several dishes and drinks are prepared tableside. Gotta love that.

Spring Break

Great location. Easy to walk across the street to the beach and two blocks to the St Armands circle. Breakfast was great. They brought us a refrigerator for our drinks.

Lido Beach Again

Traditional Holiday Inn Experience. Dated, clean, wonderful staff, great location, reasonable rates, and will return again. Decent food, nice bar, nice pool, and 40 feet from the Gulf Of Mexico. What's not to like. Oh, I almost forgot. St. Armands Circle 2 minutes walk. Great restuarants, shops, and people watching.

Great stay

Hotel being right on the beach was great. Staff was helpful with dining suggestions, although nearby dining was pricy for a family on a tight budget.
