3 stars?????

If that is what they called 3 stars I would have hated to have stayed at 2 stars or lower. Other than the location there was nothing that made it worth the extra money....heck I could have stayed at a much nicer, cleaner and more modern hotel for an extra $40.00...guess that is what I get for going cheap.

stressout at laQuinta Sarasota

Great spot were it not for"pet friendly" policy. We endured almost 3 hours of non-stop barking and whining of a dog left on its own in a neighbouring room. Could not relax or watch favourite TV programs. Had to call front desk 3 times and finally went to front desk in person, bleary eyed and exhausted, and asked if they couldn't remove the dog until the owners returned. Front desk did everything they could but policy prevents room entry by staff. Spoke to the manager the following morning. He graciously offered to remove the charge for the stay. Top marks for the staff but their corporate policy allowing dogs needs to be revisited and more out in the open.

Convenient Motel Located in Sarasota, Florida

In spite of the fact that the room was located next to the elevator, my sleep was not disturbed. The included breakfast was ample and the beds were comfortable. For those who care, this motel accepts dogs. The staff was very friendly and helpful.

Should have searched longer for hotel

First room was dirty and had greasy spots on the wall. We were given another room which seemed better until the shower handle fell off, the hair dryer was quite loose on the wall, the toilet paper holder was falling off the wall, and the sleeper sofa's mattress was so worn out, we had to use the sofa cushions to sleep on. If we were staying for more than 3 nights, I would have left and looked for another hotel. One bright spot was the breakfast buffet which had a decent selection.

Friendly staff

Debbie was very nice and helped with what she could. For the money, bed was extremely hard. Tv was older and picture was not that good. I saw 3 roaches and exterminator was there day before. They came back and I did not see ant on my last night.

Close to downtown

The hotel is close to downtown Sarasota, which is great. It is nice place to stay (clean, friendly employees). Only complain I have is that people with pets should stay in different floor than people without. I don't have any problems with animals, but if you are in town for business and dog starts barking at 1am...it is no fun...Otherwise, the hotel is very nice place to stay.....

Awesome weekend in Sarasota!

Went to Sarasota for a wedding on Longboat Key. All the rooms on the key were too expensive so we found an inexpensive alternative with La Quinta. It was about a half hour drive to the wedding but I was happy to be at La Quinta since it was close to alot more fun things to do. Whenever I make my way back down to Sarasota, I will definitely be staying there!

Shopping tip: Short drive from hotel

St. Armond's Center was a great place to hang out in the down town districts. We happened to be there during an art festival that took place there which was awesome along with all of the shops and the beaches all in this great area.

A little bit of paradise

My girlfriend and I have stayed at LaQuinta for the last 5 years on our Florida vacation, and at this particular location for the last two. The area is, of course, fabulous, and your establishment is first class. We are early risers. We fish and play hard every day, and appreciate coming back each evening to a clean room and a well maintained pool. What a great place.

Budget-Minded? Fine, if you have a Car!

Close to airport and downtown Sarasota; you can walk to Subway and Chinese carry-out. Breakfast every morning, including waffles, hard-boiled eggs, yogurt. Convenient to all the tourist must-dos, but most things in this town are, since it is very accessible. We stayed 7 nights , and the housekeeping was some days great, other days, not very. We had to ask for shampoo at front desk twice, and towels once, but otherwise, a very good value. Nice pool. They can't keep enough bottled water stocked in the vending machines for beach-bound travellers; this was sold out the whole week. Grocery store (Publix) was close, so we stocked up there and put in refrig in room.

Sightseeing tip: Short drive from hotel

Lido Beach is one of the nicest we've seen. If you get to the J & M Ringling Museums, be prepared for a world-class experience, and plan on spending most of the day to see the four separate museums (fine art, mansion, circus history, circus in miniature) for one price. We were there in September, so we went "two for the price of one," an exceptional value.
