Wingate by Wyndham New Tampa

Stayed 3 days at the Wingate New Tampa while getting our student moved out of housing for the summer. The Staff at the hotel were beyond fantastic...the maintenance man came to the pool while we were swimming and asked if the temp was ok and offered to turn up the heat if needed, it was just fine so he left and came back a few moments later with ice cold bottles of water (one for each of us), "to keep from getting dehydrated"...several times the staff allowed us to get milk or juice from the breakfast area even though they had long since closed it down...Hotel was very clean, easy to find (with GPS) with lots of dining and shopping close by with both a college student and a five year old with us they both had plenty to do while at the hotel. The lower rating for local. and room clean....a LITTLE further from college than would have liked, bathroom was clean but could have used a little bleach. I guess the only thing i would improve on is there was no child friendly programing (such as PBS or Nick Jr.) on the tv...unless you consider CN child friendly (we don't).

Best hotel for the value, very clean. The stuff was polite and helpful. I will recommend to my friends and family.

The hotel was extremely far from the airport. This was a major inconvenience. There was no room service or a jacuzzi room. The price that we paid didn't match this kind of hotel.

Satisfied with location, room cleanliness and room comfort. Will come back again in the future.

Hotel is kind of out of the way, but it's close to the interstate so not too tough to get to and from. Had an enjoyable time

Pleasant hotel, room on the smallish side. Expect a bit more for a Wyndham hotel, where really this hotel was more like a refurbished holiday Inn. Bathroom toilet needed repair during the stay and housekeeping ladies were sent to repair. A bit odd. We were only about 10 minutes from a friend place in Tampa which dictated our location. Previous trips to Tampa, we've stayed in downtown area, where in future we will likely do again. More to do and hotels have more amenities. The bed was by far one of the most comfortable we've slept on in an American hotel. EXCELLENT!

This is a great place to stay when I visit family in Tampa. 2nd stay this year along with 2 nights in Savannah at a Wingate there. Savannah less expensive....Tampa almost out of my budget range. Have stayed at the Wingate in Tampa at least once a year for the past 4 years.

great place and very clean

I was on a house hunting trip...with a little vacation time thrown in. The hotel was very nice, and the staff was excellent. From the time I checked in to the check out date...everyone was exceptional, professional, and overall very courteous and helpful. The General Manager came around one morning to each table at breakfast to check on each of us and to see if there was anything the hotel could do to make our stay more enjoyable...now that is true 'customer service'. I would recommend this hotel to anyone who is visiting the Tampa, FL area.

My boyfriend and I had a really nice experience at the Wingate. We had just come off of a terrible experience a few weeks ago in another unrelated hotel, so the Wingate was like paradise! The room was abnormally clean, the linens were fresh and stain-free, and I'm not joking you, the bed was seriously comfortable. We stayed here for a wedding in Zephyrhills, FL, and we had some of the best nights' sleep here. My boyfriend is a bit of a hotel snob and he thoroughly enjoyed his stay here. The hotel is situated a bit far from Tampa, but we had a car to travel into the city. It was, however, walking distance from a grocery store, liquor store, Taco Bell, Chickfila, etc which we took advantage of. The breakfast was extremely enjoyable and there was constantly an employee refilling emptied food canisters to keep the guests happy.
