Only room available with 10 miles of town

I will only return to this motel/hotel if I can find no other rooms within a good driving distance. Due to graduation weekend no other rooms were available within 10 miles of UGA campus. Room was OK, nothing to write about. Cont. Breakfast was lacking. I had to pay $100 per room, not worth it at all.

It was HOJO

It served its purpose, a place to sleep after spending the day with family for graduation. When the whole town was booked for graduation months in advance, this was what was left and it was still close to festivities and celebrations. The staff was friendly and warm. I would rate the stafff at the top. Don't overanticipate.

Not happy at all

Room was damp and foul smelling. Microwave and mini-fridge dirty with mold. Bed linens felt damp and musty. Plaster peeling from one wall. My wife and I found another hotel further away from our activities, but were certainly happy we did not stay at this hotel. Given the poor-quality of this hotel, I plan never to stay at this chain in the future. Learned my lesson with pre-paid.

Good Value Option

My fiancee and I stayed over a weekend while vising family and attending a conference. We found the hotel clean and comfortable, but a bit rough around the edges. The staff was very friendly and helpful; easily the best thing about this hotel. If you want a luxury stay, keep looking, but if you're looking for a safe place to get a good night's sleep, look no further. The hotel is a bit past it's prime, but was more than adequate for our needs.

No Mo HoJo

Came to Athens for the ballgame and based on some of the reviews not being bad, we chose this motel. We were in a no-smoking room and there were cigarette burns in the bedcovers, on the microwave top and in the carpet. The bedcovers smelled horrible and the pillows were nasty and uncomfortable. The walls are paper thin and you can hear people in the next room like they were sitting next to you. The description says that it is 1.5 miles from the downtown area, WRONG, it is 3 miles to downtown. I would walk 1.5 miles but not 3. Breakfast was not very good. I would pay the extra to stay at some the other places closer to downtown, it would be worth the extra money.

Good value

Stayed two nights while working in Athens. Mainly needed a shower and a bed. You can tell the hotel is not new but the room was clean, comfortable and serviced each day. I especially liked the fact that after gaining entry to your room through a secure common hallway, each ground floor room has a sliding glass door just steps from your car for convenient loading/unloading. Staff was polite and helpful.

Good experience

We went to Athens for my Alumni Class Reunion. The premises were clean. The font desk was very helpful and polite. My only complaint is that the bed was uncomfortable, seems the matress needs to be replaced with a new one.

Athens

This hotel was very sketchy -- it was dirty and very poorly maintained. For the expense, we expected lots better even for a football weekend.
