Travelodge Athens Downtown

My room was dirty, the bed was old and sagging. The TV was broken, and the towels were like sandpaper.

Even though the location was not to bad,...the hotel was nasty,...not clean at all. So bad that we had to go buy our own blanket and desinfected agent.

It was the worst place I have ever stay. Lamps about to fall off the wall, toilet ran all night. Area around the hotel was bad, bad neigborhood. Look out the room window to trash, like an a/c old unit, table, other junk they not longer useed. The room was so small you had to move the chair to get to the bed. One night stand that sat sie ways because not enough room for it. Bed was old and hard. Sheets were clean & the room was clean. Just falling apart. Shower was very harf to get to work, had the wrong kind of handle on it to work right. TV worked to a point, watched though snow on CBS. Microwave had two of the little rubber feet missing so it sat side ways. I took pictures because nobody would believe this place was listed on site like [...]. I thought they cheked these places out. It is a dump. Was in town for a special event and no rooms at any other hotel available, so had to tuff it out.

Great Location. Only a few minute walk to downtown Athens. Also close to main roads in the area.

I was only there for two nights and just needed the room for sleep. Served its function but I asked for a non-smoking room and it definitely wreaked of smoke. I'm pretty sure the smell is on all of my clothes now. It was small but that didn't bother me much. The location was pretty nice though. Pretty close to UGA and downtown Athens.

We live in Athens and often stay at this hotel when we want to go downtown and 'enjoy responsibly'. We usually get room 202 with a king-sized bed, small, separate sitting area, fridge and microwave. Aside from the fact the color on the t.v. is way off and the bathroom door not quite fitting its opening properly we are always satisfied with our room, especially its proximity to the Belgian-styled pub Trappeze which is only a 10 minute walk.The free breakfast consists of bagels and cream cheese, a dispenser of raisin bran and frosted flakes, an assortment of pastries, Minute Maid apple and orange juice, milk and Folgers coffee. At the[...] rate we booked of $35 plus tax the Travelodge is perfectly fine for us.

You would not believe, but I had 2 shirts stolen from my room! One thing made me smile - I had 2 exactly the same pictures above my bad. I think this hotel needs a better manager.
