Castleberry Inn and Suites - G

I had a really great experience at the Castle Berry Inn.

Good location in an up and coming neighborhood. Some great restaurants and a great coffee shop nearby. Hotel staff could not have been friendlier!

Unfortunately, the staff are the only reasons to stay at this hotel. But I did not book an entire week away to admire the friendly staff. The photographer who snapped the online shots was worth every penny he was paid, but do not believe the photos, they are warmly lighted and do not depict the gloom and dinginess of The Castleberry Inn & Suites. Two security guards in the reception area which is tiny. There is a sense that they are very needed at this location. There is only one entrance to the guest area which is like entering Folsom prison...a single metal door with an upper half of metal (maybe) reinforced glass. Lighting is very low florescent..gloomy is a great way to describe it. Odor is sickening, hallways narrow, ceilings low, and rooms dingy, dank, smelly and no hint of comfort in sight. All furniture seems ot have come from a hotel liquidation sale...extremely cheap!!!! and no wood to speak of. Claims of all new bedding, curtains, and televisions are absolute falsehoods. The bed looked hard and the comforter was so worn and cheesy looking, I feared sitting down to test it. I could not stay even though I arrived at 11 PM at night. I was willing to pay the one night penalty to get out of 7 days there. It took me until 1 AM to find another place to stay, but it was worth it. Staff is wonderful, but there is no privacy at the front desk. I arrived as a young lady was attempting to pay cash for a night's stay and being told that she had to have a credit card. I stepped way back to allow her a little privacy since I could see how embarrassed she felt as she was given her money back and walked out with her male companion. Cheap is not always a good thing. And clean is a necessity, not an option for me.

The location is great if you are attending events at the Georgia Dome, Georgia World Congress, and/or Phillips. It is located in a rehabilitative community, so there are elements of shady people still in the area. Check-in was extremely slow and long. There system is extremely ineffecient.

this was a nice hotel... not as close to philips arena as the description said but it was still nice and served its purpose... i would recommend it

If you need to save money and you get a good price, this place is OK. The staff was really nice overall, but the place is just beatup and not really well taken care of. There wasn't anything in particular that was really bad, it's just that overall there was something sketchy and a bit depressing about the place. It's also not really close to anything, so a car is required even if you want to grab a cup of coffee in the morning. It felt more suburban than urban, even though it was in the city.

it was a last minute choice but for the timing the price was good. room was basic.

Got what I payed for, it was near the cenrter of city so that was good but didn't put back my towels and i had get them at the front desk

The staff was GREAT! Let me start by saying that they were extremely polite and accomodating. The hallways smelled of marijuana and sour carpet. This place needs to be scrubbed from top to bottom. The room was ok...I guess it was as expected. The floors were a little damp in the room as though someone had tried to clean them. The surroundings of this hotel are pretty bad. Luckily, we were there for the dome so there were large crowds to walk with. If you need somewhere to crash for one night and you don't have any great expectations...then this may be ok for you.
