Over rated
Compared to other hotels in the area, this hotel is not any special. The price is higher and the rooms and building are older. The lobby is small and nothing is going on on weekdays.

interesting room
Great location in Atlanta. Walking distance to many restaurants and attractions. Staff was absolutely marvelous and alot of them. Do not stay in any room ending in 17 or 18. Doors are next to each other and slam close. I was startled twice out of deep sleep during stay. Not a lot of counter space in bathroom. Only towel rack in shower, so difficult to be green. Furnishings comfortable. Plenty of electrical outlets. Will stay again

marathon
From Chicago we visited Atlanta to Run a Marathon and Stayed at the Downtown Ritz Carlton. We were informed by the Ritz to take the Public Train (MARTA) from the Airport to the Hotel. This was a very unpleasant experiecne. The train goes thorugh some of Atlanta's most dangerous and impoverished neighborhoods. The Foul Mouth swearing and drunk and disorderly passangers on the train were very disturbing and placed us in fear. We had explained to the Ritz that we would have been happy to rent a limousine or pay for motor transportation. It is shocking the Ritz would suggest the Marta train and have our first experience be a visit to the Atlanta Ghetto and fear for saftey. This is an extremely bad move on the Ritz behalf.

A little overrated
The hotel is what would be expected of a Ritz-Carlton, but the staff was somewhat snoody and this is dissapointing. I asked if they had a vending machine, her reply was "no", I asked if she could point me in the direction of a convienence store and her response was "we don't direct our guests that way". If it wasn't for the nicer clerk at the desk who interrupted the rude woman, and sold me a diet coke from the gift shop of all places, I would have been even more irritated. Room was awesome and overall experience was good, but the clerks need to work on their attitude. I didn't pay good money to stay at a Ritz, when I could have stayed at a Hampton and been treated better and nicer.

Good if you get a discount
The hotel had the expected luxuries (other than a pool) and service was friendly and perhaps even too enthusiastic. If you can get it at $200/night, go for it, but the R-C in Buckhead may have better facilities.

Good price,nice rooms
After a while the only problem I had was the staff was kind of stuck up. Other than that room service was good but be careful and pay cash so they dont add charges for what you didnt buy

Thank you, everyone!
My fiance and I had just gotten engaged. They provided us with complimentary champagne to assist in celebrating. They made us feel very special, and it was truly great to share such an important experience with them. I highly recommend The Ritz Atlanta! They're great!

Quick but memorable
My family stayed at the Ritz Carlton Atlanta for a one night layover. We checked in late from our flight and we were thrilled with their kindness. Our room was clean and roomy. There was a beautiful view of Atlanta's city lights. We left the next morning after a delicious breakfast at the Atlanta Grill. We didn't have time to explore the area, but for a short stay, it was perefect!

Beautiful downtown hotel
As is typical of the Ritz Carlton, the staff and service were wonderful! The location is excelllent if you have business in the area, and the hotel is surrounded by great restaurants as well. The hotel is a little tight - not as spacious as most Ritz hotels - but it served our needs well.

Good
Hotel was great, service prompt and polite, atmosphere very nice. I don't have anything to complain about. Perhaps I expected a bit more from Ritz. It was like planing on going to Bloomingdales and instead ending up at their nice but not quite the same outlet store :) - I think you get the picture. The price was right so it was all good. I enjoyed it.
