Overpriced
Very friendly staff. Everything clean, but musty smell in room (perhaps old tobacco smoke?). Room decor a bit dated, curtain sheers worn and torn. OK for a quick overnight stay, but overpriced.

Not in a good location
After traveling all day the hotel itself was an ok place to stop and sleep, but the area surrounding was a little questionable. Several "massage" parlors and "spas" were very nearby and some suspicious activity going on in adjoining parking lot. It was set back from the road and not exactly easy to get to either. There were several other hotels fairly close by that had I known the area I would've chosen to stay at one of them instead.

Macon trip
Good location. The pool was clean but a bit crowded with the pool chairs coming right up to the pool. The rooms are definitely older with no fire sprinklers in the ceilings or fans in the the bathrooms. The elevator had an annoying voice that would tell you what floor you were on or which direction you were going, petty I know but it really did get old.

Clean and comfortable
The hotel is located in a recently developed area outside of the city of Macon. There are numerous supermarkets, restaurants and shops located within a short driving distance. Note that you'll be about 5 miles north of the actual city, so this is not within the historic area of Macon. You'll have to drive a few miles down the highway to reach the city proper.

Macon Holiday Inn Express
Was hoping for a hotel with a nice pool for a relaxing weekend. Pics online looked great. The pool was super tiny and partially blocked from the sun by the hotel itself. Not in a very nice location either.
