Not the best hotel experience I've ever had,
The room and hotel seemed nice at first glance but, on closer inspection, I noticed some details that I didn't particularly care for. The worst and most unsatisfactory part of the room was the odor. My friend described it by saying that the room smelled like excrement, and I have to say that I agree with him. On top of the horrible smell, the woman at the front desk wasn't particularly nice, the parking was confusing and a bit expensive, there were holes burnt into the comforter on the bed, the air conditioner didn't get the temperature of the room down to where I set it, the railing in the bathroom was loose, the television quality wasn't great, and the complimentary breakfast was mediocre at best. Although I slept okay, my friends told me that they didn't sleep well because they found the bed to be uncomfortable. I would not stay in this hotel again.

Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
From this hotel, if you walk down Montgomery Street you'll reach a street called Broughton that has a ton of great shops and restaurants. A few blocks further, down a flight of stairs, you'll reach River Street, which is beautiful and has awesome shops with lots of fun Savannah themed souvenirs, as well as a few hat shops, bars, clothing and jewelry shops, and much more. There are some great restaurants by the riverfront as well. It's fun to watch the cargo ships pass by while eating a delicious meal on the riverfront!

Weekend visit
Conviently located. Pleasant, very clean rooms with exellent support staff. On site parking was a plus as was the concierge's helpfulness and knowlege. Would consider this and other Country Inn Suites in the future. Seemed a little pricy but may not for the area.

Not the greatest
Staff was very unfriendly and not helpful. Our room was clean, but we encountered several issue with 2 different rooms that the staff was not helpful with. After trying to work it out, it boiled down to that we didn't book through them so they were not at all wanting to help accomodate us.

The Distillary - great place for 20 different draft beers and a large bottle selection. Food is great too and a short walk from the hotel.

Eh
It was nothing special at all. I guess you get what you pay for. The underground parking garage was a joke! It held max ten cars and the spaces were so small I could barley fit. They didn't even inform be it was 10 a day they just charged my card. ( thankfully I knew already but out of courtesy for those who dont) thus location is very far from river street and that's all there is to do in savannah. Just to the west maybe .2 miles and it's the ghetto, filthy, and scumb bags walking around very sketchy at night. I would not stay here or anywhere on this side of town.

Blood on the sheets
Ready to go to bed and found blood and short hairs on the sheets. Got transferred to another room that looked like one out of a ghetto. Asked for money back and Terrell at the counter said he would have to talk to someone else because it was not their responsibility, at least I think that's what he said he had a huge tongue piercing in and was hard to understand.

Short walk from hotel
convenient to River Street, civic center and Paula Deen's "Lady and Sons". Not far to Tybee Island by car and Uncle Bubba's. Good parking available at hotel parking garage or across the street in parking deck. Come and go as you please.

Great service and support
Had trouble with a tour company. The hotel staff sorted it out and found us an alternative tour within 15mins which was fantastic. Couldn't ask for better service.

Best value for the money!
Location is great. Walking distance a mile or less to historic squares and river shops. Clean rooms, comfortable beds and pillows, clean bathrooms, but those h2o conservation showers heads are not my style, breakfast is good and staff are courteous and informative.

Highly Recommend!
We stayed here when we brought our son to Savannah to move into the SCAD dorms. The hotel is extremely clean, lots of space in the rooms, and the staff is awesome! The complimentary breakfast was terrific, not just bagels, donuts, and boxed cereal. Biscuits with sausage gravy, eggs, grits, waffles, fruit, etc. I highly recommend this hotel.
