The Thunderbird Inn

The price seemed too good. Only $100.00 a week night. Then I was told that there is a non-refundable $50.00 fee for having a pet in the room. Come on now, for a 20 pound Sheltie! They would not cancel the booking so I was forced to pay up!

staff was friendly. brought fresh popped popcorn to room and an extra towel w/in 15 minutes of checking in. arrived early for event and they let us park there so we could walk to River st. using the parking pass they would have given us at check in. that was great! Lemonade in lobby was a welcome sight after getting back from the walk in Savannah. only complaint was no microwave,no pool. A/c worked,but was really cold on person by unit and took a while to reach other side of room.

I was so pleased with the Thunderbird Inn. My sister and I were traveling in Savannah, and were happy to be so close to downtown at such a low price. The rooms were adorable and clean. We were both so comfortable and enjoyed our visit to Savannah. If we're in town, we're definitely stay again!

The toilet was stopped up and unusable. Had to go to the lobby to use the bathroom. The next morning they said they'd get it fixed today. It should have been fixed 14 hours earlier. That's a poor response. I had to check out. When I asked for a receipt they said I had to contact the company I booked the hotel through. Doesn't make any sense to me! Would be leery in staying here again.

This hotel will rip you off!! They have exorbitant additional fees for everything, so I canceled my reservation. I was told I would be refunded for my stay that had to pay up front :(, but they won’t respond or refund my money. They’re rated F with the BBB.

Looking from the outside you see an old motel with a pretty new paint job. Greeted by Leslie with a bright smile and a super cheerful personality, check in was easy and smooth, to include treats for our dog, a dog bed, and two bowls. The renovations inside are what make the difference. I could have sworn I was in a new hotel once I entered the room. Modern new decor, clean, and smelled nice. Andrea from housekeeping was very attentive to make sure we had all the towels and blankets we needed, noticing our family of six when we came in. Later in the evening, Quita from house keeping knocked on the door and gave us enough Moonpies and RC Colas for everyone. Appropriately retro, like the Inn. Leslie assured our check out was quick and simple. Within walking distance of River Street and City Market, there isnt even a need for cab fare after experiencing downtown nightlife. I highly recommend the Thunderbird Inn when staying in Savannah

We booked this hotel based on its price, proximity to downtown, and the little extras it promised, like leaving moonpies on the pillows and having a Krispy Kreme buffet for breakfast. The location was great; it is easily walkable to downtown. However, there were no moonpies, and the second day they were out of Krispy Kreme by 9 a.m. Not the end of the world, but disappointing all the same. We ran into one problem in which we had no towels the second night. When we called the front desk, they were prompt in bringing some, but they should not have had to do so. Overall, it was a clean, decent place to stay, but we didn't get the little extras which we, frankly, paid the extra for.

I found the Thunderbird Inn to be exactly what I was looking for in my quick visit to Savannah. Amenities were well within the price range, the staff was ridiculously cheerful and helpful, and my room was clean and comfortable. I don't know what else I could want out of the experience.

Good: 1.Location is very good. 2. Sound insulation very good Problems: 1. Parking does not have room if Motel is booked. 2. Liquid soap without dispenser is nonsense 3. No extra toilet paper 4. The breakfast- nothing good about it. I prefer to pay less without breakfast. So many good food places around.
