Waikiki beachfront wonderland
Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa is Waikiki's only true resort destination, with 22 oceanfront acres offering the perfect mix of exceptional resort accommodations and classic Hawaiian hospitality. Sink into the widest stretch of white sand in Waikiki: a serene beachfront lagoon, lush tropical gardens with exotic wildlife and cascading waterfalls, majestic views of Diamond Head and stunning sunsets - plus more than 18 restaurants and lounges, 90 shops and services, a spa and much more.
Highlights
  • Marvel at the beachfront Paradise Pool with Waikiki's longest waterslide or wade in a real oceanfront lagoon
  • Poolside Polynesian revue and free beachfront fireworks show every Friday night
  • Connect kids with Camp Penguin, offering on-property activities and offsite adventures
Location
The resort spreads out along the western edge of Waikiki beach, where the sand is widest and the water shallow and safe for kids. Take the beachfront boardwalk to the U.S. Army Museum, a few minutes away, or walk another few minutes to the heart of Waikiki. In the other direction, Hawaii's largest shopping center, Ala Moana, is an easy 15-minute stroll.
Rooms
Five graceful towers ring the resort with a total of nearly 3,000 rooms and plenty of city, mountain and ocean views. Each tower is unique, but all feature bright, contemporary rooms with private balcony, Hilton Serenity Collection Bed and Bedding, high-speed internet access (fees apply), television enabled for various entertainment modes, and refrigerator. Select towers feature their own swimming pools and sundecks.
Dining

Choose from 18 dining and bar options. Tropics Bar & Grill is one of Waikiki's best new beachfront hangouts, with fresh Island dishes, live musicians and sinful sunset views. Lappert's offers Hawaii's best ice cream (must-try flavor: Kauai Pie). The Waikiki Starlight Luau is an all-evening adventure held under the stars.
Recreation
  • Paradise Pool, 10,000 square feet of slides and swimming
  • Duke Kahanamoku Lagoon, a 5-acre saltwater lagoon
  • Camp Penguin, a day camp for kids ages 5-12
  • The offshore Atlantis Submarine, diving to 120 feet for views of reef life
  • Spirit of Aloha Catamaran, offering a variety of sailing adventures
  • Beach and water equipment available, including surfboards, kayaks and bodyboards, plus lessons

Room was clean, furniture somewhat dated. Very good staff, nice location. Very nice property with lots to do. Resort fee expensive if you did not use the facilities.

Good trip overall

I enjoyed the property - great hotel and location - only complaint is that it was too busy! Understandable since there are multiple towers of hotels on the site so there are LOTS of people checking inout, waiting for valet service, crowds walking through the property, etc.. The location is really great: beach front with nice white sand entry into the water to swim out and close to Ala Moana Center and close to decent restaurants nearby if you want to get a good walk in with your meal! Round Table Pizza onsite was good and reliable. An ABC store is also on the property - very convenient! Really liked the hotel, but will stay at a smaller hotel on Beach Walk next trip because of the crowds.

Sightseeing tip: Not Applicable

Getting out of Waikiki via Kalia Rd to Ala Moana Blvd is easy! I have stayed in different hotels in Waikiki and endured the nightmare traffic getting across the Ala Wai Canal via McCully St and this hotel has a great alternate way to the H1 freeway via Ala Moana Blvd. and out to Pearl Harbor, Kapolei, Diamond Head, Makapu'u Point, etc.

The hotel resort was phenomenal! A lot to do and see while staying there. There are many places to eat and shop right along the resort. We had quite a walk to the beach but it was so entertaining we did not mind. The beach was fantastic! and the night life and the fireworks were great too!

Awesome first trip to Hawaii

The resort was way beyond my expectations. The on site restaurants were a little pricey, but it was within just a few minutes walking distance from any bar, restaurant, or shop you can think of so it wasn't an issue. The view was incredible from the room, I felt it was a great value for my money.

Hilton is pretty old, but it's not too bad. The rainbow tower in Hilton is very beautiful, but we didn't had a chance to get the room with ocean view.

Sightseeing tip: Short walk from hotel

Honolulu is small, and expensive parking. so a rental car is not necessary. Using Uber for taxi is a good idea.

Pleasant and comfortable

I liked the location of the hotel and service in general. I used to live in Hawaii, and I know aloha hospitality very well. This time, I found people working at the hotel less welcoming and warm. They looked overworked and tired.

So good I got engaged on the balcony

The resort was breathtaking upon our arrival. Staff was super friendly, was given the opportunity to change my initial room and upgrade at a cheaper rate than what is advertised online. Received the most beautiful room in the Rainbow tower with our balcony facing the Diamond head mountain. Woke up to an amazing view everyday, it was so beautiful I proposed on my balcony!
