Had a nice time

For the most part it was very comfortable. Very pricey though. Come prepared to fork over a lot of money when you come here. Most of the staff was great, the coffee shop people could cheer up a little bit but other than that had a great time. Will probably be back.

great location in the heart of Kaanapali. Resort grounds are some of the nicest. Rooms are small about 300-350 sq ft, resort of this caliber should have at least 450 -500 sq ft. Rooms need to be updated, but the Heavenly bed is always welcome. Restaurants and bars are typically " Hawaii expensive", but at least the food/drinks are good and service very good for the most part.. Activities much more expensive on resort grounds, go in town to get better prices.

Perfectly located.

Overall a great place. Right next door to whaler's village. Basically on the beach. Did not try the pools but they looked good. Had one bad encounter with a concierge regarding use of jacuzzi... you have to have a spa service to use. Had a great encounter with Ray B (concierge) about a place to eat great noodles! Needed non-allergenic pillows, allergies to feather/down, took a while to get the pillows, bedding replaced even though I called before to let them know. Would recommend and go again.

Hotel needs to be updated

The pool waterfalls were not working while we were at the hotel. The hot tub did not work for a day or more. Our room, with a beautiful view, had loud silverware noise in the early morning at 4 am. Would not stay here again. We paid extra for the ocean view and got the noise with it. The staff are friendly. With the price there should have been breakfast included.

Review on westin resort & spa

We arrived in Maui at 9:30 am check in time was at 3:00 pm , we decided to swing by the hotel to check in with them to see when we can accommodate or room . Our room was vacant but needed to cleaned , they had me leave my number with them they would expedite my room and they will call me when it whas ready . I received a call around noon , my room was ready . Our whole experience at the Westin was very Enjoyable , the pool area and restaurant area was by far superb over the other hotels in the area . Now about the beach in front of the hotel , you just can't find a better beach clean little surf perfect for snorkeling or just swimming . Now for the location . I don't think you can beat the north west side of Maui with Whalers village and several places the shop and eat you will find your self spending much of your time right there . I like to snorkel so with Black rock being only a couple hundred yard up the beach . You just can beat the location . I gave the Westin resort & spa 5 stars .

great location, but resort overall okay

we booked a king size bed and they told us at our arrival that they didnt have any king size beds availabe. also the elevator closest to our room was out of service for half of the trip and the hotel kept closing off certain areas of the resort for private parties. not a big deal until they closed off the only hotub on the premises on one of the colder days. very inconvenient. also we called to see if we could speak to the manager and they never returned our call. guess they didn't care. on the other hand the food was great and location is great.

great kid friendly hotel

As you arrive to the hotel, you're greeted by a huge koi pond with flamingos and beautiful water fall. there's also family pool area with small and big water slides... also, adult swimming pool and hot tub. The beach is right in front of the hotel and the beach walk connects all of the hotels around... and whaler's village (good place to shop and hang out)... over all, great place... the only thing was the beds... they were so uncomfortable...

Ka'anapali Dreaming

10 days in Paradise. Wonderful time at the Westin Maui. Beautiful resort, pools, landscaping and beach. The front desk staff was exceptional! Helped us move to a full ocean view room when they found out it was our honeymoon. Also sent a nice bottle of champaigne and chocolate covered strawberries to the room. Victor at the Travel and Excursions desk couldn't have been nicer or provided better tips. Stop by and see him. The "Hula Girl" sunset dinner cruise isn't to be missed. One of the best meals we had the entire trip. Beautiful beach and Black Rock is only a 7 minute walk down the beach or a short shuttle ride if you prefer. Location is perfect! Whaler's Village literally right next door maybe a 3 minute walk to restuarants and shopping. Don't miss the Hula Grill ...beach front outdoor seating, live music 7 days a week, and a good happy hour. Didn't want to leave. Thank you Westin and staff for a never to be forgotten vacation.
