Hawthorn Suites by Wyndham Cedar Rapids

I reserved a room with a jet tub and a king bed. When I got to the hotel it looked very nice. Except when I walked into the room. There was an old orange(the fruit) under the AC and somekind of candy, straws, and bottle caps right next to the bed. I could tell the room had not been cleaned very well. I also looked under the bed and there was a paper heart, I'm guessing it was from Valentines day. I also tried the jet tub and when I started the jets black stuff started coming out of them. I called the front desked and asked for a different room or an upgrade. Instead they sent a cleaning lady up to my room and she complained about how they only had 2 people working that day and it was hard to get the rooms all cleaned. She offered to let me leave and she'd clean the room again. I had just got there from a long business day and the last thing I wanted to do was leave. Again I asked for a new room but they said no. When it was a sunday night and 15 cars in the lot. I know they had rooms. I wont go back. I've stayed at cheaper hotels that were cleaner than this. Save you money and stay at the Super 8 or Comfort Inn!!

Stay went well. The room was nice and clean, and worked well for a quick overnight business trip. I would have been comfortable there for a longer stay. Great deal with "happy hour" food and drink. Breakfast was very good. Will definitely stay again.

We were in town to attend a Hawkeye game and to do a little site seeing. The hotel was everything we expected according to hotel descriptions. The breakfast had a good variety each morning and the pillow top mattresses were very comfortable. The hotel staff could not have been any better - very friendly and accommodating. We would definitely stay here again.

Nice clean hotel lobby and room. Microwave popcorn was available in the room which tided us over. Hotel clerk was helpful in describing restaurant choices

I was in Cedar Rapids for a baseball showcase with my 18 yr old son. I only stayed for one night. The hotel was easy to get to from Cedar Rapids Airport. Our room was neat and clean. It is not a luxury hotel but for our short trip it offered all we needed-laundry facilites, pool, fitness and complimentary buffet in the morning. Employees were friendly and helpful. Although I dont anticipate returning to Iowa-I would definitely recommend this hotel for a short stay.

could have stayed with our daughter who lived in Cedar Rapids, wanted the use of a hotub, so stayed at a motel. The motel was clean, the hotub was hot, but had no preasure at the jets!

After a death in the family we have had to travel from Nebraska to Iowa every week for over a month. We have found this hotel to offer everything we were needing, quiet, comfort and a very friendly and accommodating staff. The morning breakfast has been great. experience was great - this hotel had great amenities: free hot breakfast every morning and happy hour free beer and wine; dinner Monday through Thursday. The room had kitchen and living room. It was very spacey and comfortable.

Location good. Hotel recently remodeled. Poor Construction for the remodel-Comode instaqlled crooked and leaked in the tank at all times- Had to turn off the icemaker as when it was in the on position, water leaked on to the stove top and drained down below on the pot and pans. They didn't hook up the water line to the fridge. It was just hanging.
