BEST WESTERN PLUS Steeplegate Inn

This was the perfect getaway we needed, the room was clean, the pool was great, the breakfast outstanding .Hopefully the next trip will be longer!

Although our stay was just one night, we had a great experience with the room, staff, safety, etc. I will stay here each time I drive cross country! I did not have 'Value' as a top score, as the food that I had for dinner and breakfast were 'OK' not great. The cesaer salad was not good.

We stayed for 5 days while visiting our son and his family. We have never slept so well. The hotel was very quiet. The rooms were recently renovated. The breakfast buffet was delicious. Our room was easily accessible. We will definitely stay at the Steeplegate on our next trip.

Definitely would not recommend this hotel to anyone. First of all it smelled horrible everywhere...in the lobby, in the rooms, in the hall ways! Seriously, its time to modernize this hotel and change the funky smelly carpets. So we got to the room, which was old but bearable, thank God we only stayed one nite, HOWEVER! the bathroom was unsanitary, there was mold everywhere, i was so digested i didn't want to touch anything. Went and complained to the front desk, [*] sorry that all they have available. To make matters worst there was n o internet and i was there on business so i had to go out and seek services elsewhere, the hotel was definitely not accomodating. For them to be carrying the Best Western brand i was highly disappointed and would not go there or recommend anyone else to go there.

Enjoyed the restaurant fare. Room and public areas were spotless and well maintained. Was quiet and pleasant. Conveniently located at I-80 and 61, I was not bothered at all by traffic noise and I am a very light sleeper.

Been awhile since we stayed at Steeplegate. Had our wedding reception there and hosted many events at this hotel in the 90's. Its showing its age and is a bit tired. Lounge (Lucky's) was disappointing. Waited 20 minutes for service in the adjacent room and never did get acknowledged. We left. 11 p.m so we thought of room service for a drink - closed at 10. Again, disappointing.

My boyfriend and I live apart and so we met half-way for his birthday in the Quad Cities. We wanted something that was nice but not outrageously expensive. The Steeplegate was just that. We stayed in a king, non-smoking room. It was very spacious and very nice. The bed was comfortable and it was great to have a microwave and refrigerator. The staff was very helpful and kind. We spent most of the day at the Vanderveer Botanical Gardens and Park--definitely very relaxing and nice! The free hot breakfast wasn't all that great. The first morning we ate it, but the next morning we opted to forgo the breakfast and eat the Sunday Brunch Buffet. It was a little expensive, but it was much better than the free breakfast. There is a nice outdoor place to sit and the pool area is beautiful. There are huge skylights and lots of places to sit and enjoy. Definitely a great place to stay for a relaxing weekend!!!

Our room was great we had reserved a whirlpool suite. The only thing I was not thriled about was the whirlpool. It was nothing like the pictures shown. The pictures show it being in the room, not in the bathroom as the tub/shower combo. Ohterwise it was nice. The bed was very comfortable, and the room/suite was very large. I could almost live there!! There happened to be a Class Reunion & a wedding reception there the same night and we had a couple in the next room who argued for about 1 1/2 hours begining at 2AM. That was not nice. Breakfast was ok. Not alot but enough and it was included in the price.
