The only negative was the hotel's location combined with Des Moines marginal public transportation system. A six-block street closure shortened one bus route by over 70%. In other cities the bus would have been rerouted around the closed streets.

Quality Inn was a good value for the money; the rooms were a nice size, friendly staff, smooth check in. I know it's a little thing, but they had decent vending options for a late-night check in like me. It wasn't spotless, but not overly dirty. The hardest part was getting to the entrance with all the one-ways in the area, but all of Des Moines downtown is like that and I've spent ten minutes getting to other places there, too. Still, a larger, clearer entrance sign, and maybe some signage on the surrounding streets, might help.

Good value in Des Moines

Hotel staff were nice; especially the hotel shuttle driver who picked me up from the airport. Very accomodating and helpful to a first timer to Iowa. Very helpful information guides, and guest services directory. Business center was nothing to brag about but functionally it was just fine.
Hotel isn't too far a walk or drive from the 'main' downtown area but be warned that there isn't much commerce around the hotel itself. Hotel room itself was nice but bed wasn't too comfortable; but if you prefer a harder bed then it might be your thing. Could have just been my room but what I know is that my back wasn't feeling too good in the morning. (I traveled to another city in Iowa the next day and I didnt have this problem with the hotel I stayed in...there IS a difference!)
Overall, depending on what you are coming to Des Moines for, its not exactly the Shangri La but this is a great value for/ near the downtown area.

It was an easy location to get to. The staff were real nice and helpful My wife left something in the car that they had parked for us and the staff member ran to the car and retrieved the item plus my wifes cell phone which she had also left in the car. The kids had a great time in the pool and wanted to stay extra day.

Excellent place to stay in Des Moines

Only one problem here: the telephone didn't work in the bedroom, making wakeup calls less than ideal. Also, I don't like having to pay extra for internet acces--it should be built into the price and available for all. However, everything else was just as it should be: good breakfast, drinks & snacks in the evening, and a comfortable room & shower with all the necessary hotel amenities. I will be back.

I stayed there with some girlfriends for my bachelorette party and it was fantastic. The rooms were big and we loved the free happy hour. We also used the hotel's shuttle to be dropped off at the bars in downtown Des Moines and only had to wait 10 minutes. We also took part in the complimentary breakfast in the morning that really hit the spot.

Second stay at this hotel, close walk to good restaurants in the Court district always felt safe even with very few people walking in the area. The staff are great, friendly and attentive. We did not use the spa but the breakfast was great, the chef used vegetables from his own garden for the omelets, nice touch.
Don't miss the Farmers market Saturday morning better than most we have been to.

Driving up to the hotel, I thought, "I am in the right place?" But once inside, the staff was warm and welcoming, the room was HUGE and clean, and the complimentary breakfast was well beyond the coffee and donuts I've experiences at other places.

For the price the hotel was a great deal. The hotel is close to the airport but otherwise there is not much by. Next time I will probably choose a hotel closer to downtown and shopping.

Will Not Hesitate to Ever Stay Again!!

We looked for hotels near Summer Jam @ Water Works Park. Price was right here as well as the distance. Plenty of restaurants and shopping near by. Our hesitation was it was right across from the airport. Not a big worry at all. Stayed 2 nights and only heard 1 plane. Several baseball teams were there for tournaments, but hardly knew they were there. No need to look further. Clean and plenty of space in our King bed room.

Hotel a bit off the beaten path, room was small but okay for our one-night stay. TV had signal problems and some channels quite snowy. Internet signal was good. Free breakfast was good,with waffles, biscuits and gravy, and more. Overall was acceptable.

The hotel was very clean and large for the money. However, the morning breakfast was lacking. If you are not up and eating in early morning they will ran out of food and not replace it. They close at 9 am and I arrived at 8:30 am. Several items were gone and they refuse to replace them. First come first served.

The lobby is under construction. The picture is very misleading. It is actually drab, cold, and bare. I almost didn't recognize the front desk. Breakfast was also disappointing - hoping for salmon, got cold scrambled eggs. The room was spacious and wonderful. We got a free upgrade. Service was wonderful. Sky walk to restaurants was perfect

Our room was quiet, comfortable.Hotel soap and shampoo was of very good quality. Elevator was fast and solid.The building was old in a historical sense.Wonderful art deco touches in the buildings design. The staff was so courteous and professional. They were very helpful answering all our questions.
The hotel was conveniently located for our needs.

Came for a weekend away from home to do some shopping and dining downtown. Had a great stay, very friendly and helpful staff, clean rooms, overall excellent experience. Only complaint was the digital cable going out during a storm, but there is nothing that could be done about that. :)

We attended a graduation and visited relatives.But when we checked out the credit card nor address matched ours. The amount of motel charge was much cheaper. So My husband went back in to question this only to be told we would be charged the higher amount from [...]and that was their credit card number and address. So you make $20 that we could have saved just by calling and making our own reservation.

Perfect for what we needed

It was nice, much cleaner than I thought it would be (or feared it wouldn't be) and in a perfect location for what we needed. The staff was very friendly and helpful. We stayed on a Thursday and Friday night, Saturday morning there was more noise than I would've wanted but we were also on the 1st floor on the way to the lobby.

The location is very noisy. Located at corner of busy major road and freeway. Major construction noise from across street. A/C kept going out and bathroom had urine smell. Good side - maid service great and staff very pleasant. Wouldn't stay there again though.

This is a brand new hotel, very clean as it should be. The vanity is small but seperate from the bathroom. You will have to go through the T.V. chanels and write them down as there is not a station list in the room. They were short on staff but even after long hours the staff was still very friendly and helpful. The only thing I can complain about is I was there on business and they gave me a handicap room which I did not ask for. Handicap rooms do not have a desk or table therefore I had to try to do work on the bed which was very uncomfortable. In the future I will be sure to request not to have this type of room. There are fast food near by on University Ave,nice restraunts a couple of miles from the hotel, convience store down the street for your gas and snacks,and a Cigarette Outlet around the corner for all of your adult drinking supplies. The fair grounds are right across the street, the Casino, race track and Adventure Land amusement are just a few miles away. I will be staying in this hotel again for business but would also stay for pleasure.

Nice, clean hotel. Friendly staff. Good restaurant, though a little on the pricey side. Need a car- hotel is surrounded by a field. Bare bones workout room, but nice pool and hot tub. Overall, nice pleasant stay. This hotel was on the upper end for the price. From what I saw, I could have been in a less expensive hotel that is a dive or one that is nicer, but $100 more a night.

A Nice Place To Stay

The Chase Park Suites is a nice place to stay. The rooms are large and we had plenty of room for the 3 of us. They allowed us to check in an hour early without any hassle and the gentleman at the front desk was very helpful in finding us a room away from the interstate. The only thing that wasn't fabulous was their morning breakfast bar. It was difficult for the staff to keep up, because there were a lot of people that morning. It's just one of those things that happens and it would not deter me from staying there again. What do you expect for a free breakfast? Sometimes you get what you pay for.

We stayed in a pool side room with 1 adult and 4 children ranging from 3 to 17. I was a little worried due to how inexpensive it was but it was very clean and roomy. The bathrooms were spotless. And the water park area was fantastic! The slides and pirate ship kept all 4 of the kids busy for hours. It was only 10 minutes from AdventureLand but 1/2 the cost of the closer hotels and so much, much better (speaking from experience)

My husband and I stayed overnight on our way down from Wisconsin to Texas. We found the location convenient - close to the highway. Our room was clean and the staff was very friendly. We also thought the continental breakfast was good. Very nice accommodations for the price.

Nice Stop on Family Vacaton

We arrived late at night, and check in went smoothly. Small parking lot in front of hotel, but more spaces behind the hotel.
The one glaring problem was the elvator. We were on the 4th floor and only 1 of the 3 elevators was working. This was a bit of a pain as many people were leaving at the same time we were and we had to wait for the elevator and then when it opened up it was full of other travelers. We ended up only using the elevator for heavy suitcases and took the stairs for all other visits to the car.

The room was clean, the staff was friendly, and the stay was pretty much uneventful and quiet...just what I needed. My only complaint was that the shower faucet was difficult to operate and it seemed as though it was on the verge of breaking.
