Meets minimum standards

The hotel is located in a fairly run down part of Des Moines. But it was very quiet even though there were many adult supervised children checking in. The room was quite small and smelled of cleaning chemicals (is that good or bad). With only an anolog TV I am not sure how they plan to deal with the digital changover. I had to set my watch to wake me as there was no clock radio (there was no clock!) and no one on the desk at 5:30 AM. Mostly the motel was inconvenient which is a pain after a long day's drive.

Dining tip: Short walk from hotel

There is a restaurant connected to the hotel chain but others in the immediate area looked more appealing. I would try them first!

OK for basic stays

No continental breakfast as advertised. Did not even get a credit for the nearby resteraunt. Non smoking and smoking rooms too close together. Hallway smelled like smoke. Not worth the $50. It is more like a $30 room. Internet connection was slow and the signal was weak. If all you are looking for is a room, then you could probably get one cheaper and get the same amenities. No shampoo or conditioner. Need to bring your own.
