Weekend stay
The cost of the room was did not compair to the lack of quality. When we first went into the room, we killed a bug crawling on the floor! there was a refigerator in the room that was not clean. The drapes were hanging off the hooks and had holes in them. A old hotel that needs work. Overall, we have had much nicer rooms at other hotels.

Econolodge - Dubuque
We traveled to the Econolodge/Dubuque,IA from a Ramada Inn in Bettendorf, IA, also booked through [...]. The Ramada was very nice, and only $ll more, so coming to the Econolodge was a letdown. The room was a bit beat up. There was only one nightstand so we used the wobbly desk chair as a makeshift nightstand. The bathroom was very clean and the breakfast offered a nice variety. The driveway into the parking lot had a very steep incline causing the car to bump no matter how slow we went. It is close to Dubuque and fast-food restaurants as well as a Japanese steakhouse. The TV did not have very many channels but there were enough. We chose it for the location and price but would think twice about going there again. The personnel were pleasant people and the king size bed was firm.

If it's clean you want, clean you'll get
We wanted most of all to have a clean room. Nothing else really matters. Our room was probably the cleanest we had ever been in. My wife, a clean freak, couldn't find anything to Lysol! Bed's were very comfortable. Location was quiet, even being next to a truck stop. Staff was very friendly. Breakfast included good sausage gravy and biscuits besides the usual fare. We will definitely stay here again.

Acceptable location for the price
Great location; we spent the day shopping in Galena and spent the evening at the casino. Shuttle service to and from the casino was great. Staff was very friendly and helped arrange the casino shuttle for us. Beds were comfortable. Parking lot and entrance road needs a little work. Room appeared clean but it had a strange smell -- seemed like it aired out by morning.

We visited Galena on both Friday and Saturday -- Friday was very pleasant; Saturday was crazy buzy. On Saturday, all the stores were packed, parking was impossible to find, and at lunch time, there was a 1 to 2 hour wait in all the restaurants. If your schedule is flexible; see Galena on a week day and avoid the crowds.

This is a very nice motel, convienent to Dubuque. The staff recommended a place for dinner that was top notch. We would definitely stay here again if ever in the area.

pleasant stay
We arrived after a long drive and wanted to go straight to the room and relax. Check in was easy, the staff was very friendly and let us know if we needed anything let them know. When we got to the room it was nice and clean. That night it was nice and quiet. We were very happy with our experience and would gladly stay here again.

The Steel's
Enough for what we needed
This was our first time going to a casino and we really had fun,especially with the coupon the hotel gave us!We also were close enough to shop in Galena and enjoyed that as well.It wasn't super fancy but it was just what we wanted.
