Sleep Inn Urbandale

My friend and I had booked this hotel for a wedding. There was trouble right from the beginning. I always use this site for booking all my hotels. First she tells me to use them instead of a third party vendor when booking. She asks for my credit card, which is common practice. Usually we charge extra things to our room. Valet, internet, ect. Instead they charged us for our room again after pre paying for the room. They were good at refunding my money, but the manager suggested that it was my fault and that I needed to make sure to ask when giving the person at the desk my card. I was told I needed to ask them that I wasnt being charged for a room. I've never had to ask to be sure my card wasn't being charged at any hotel I've checked into. The room was also uncomfortable. The floor creaked so badly from the room above us, that it made difficult to sleep. The florescent lights were also very bright. Worst experience I've had.

Overall, the stay was good and served my purpose for a brief overnight business stay. Good value in that sense. Apparently, someone checked in at 4 am right above me, and it sounded like they were playing football until about 6 am. So, that has tainted an excellent review. I did call staff, and they said they would take care of it, but didn't want to make a second call.

Safe quet hotel near many attactions,

A nice location easy access to interstate. Unfortunately it was very noisy. room above us you could hear people WALKING. Outside the door you could hear conversations. :( A very nice complimentary breakfast.

The Sleep Inn Urbandale has a great location right off I-35, biggert ahn expected rooms & polit,helpfull staff. The indoor pool & hot tub made for a very relaxing end of a lobg travel day. The hot breakfast was a great start for another long "day-in-the-saddle.

The Hotel was within walking distance to the Living history Farms which is a must see. Also right next to an excellent resturant 'The Machine Shed. The drawback would be it was crowed so the pool was crowed and breakfast in the morning was very crowed. Also it is close to the highway so there was a lot of traffic noise.

The Sleep Inn at Urbandale was a great disappointment and I will never stay there again. We had driven 12 hours from out west when we checked in at 10PM. When we arrived, the receptionist was quite friendly. We then went to our room only to find the sink was inoperative as we could not keep the stopper open and had to keep it pried open with a metal tube so that the water could drain. Shortly thereafter, we received another call from the receptionist stating that they had just reissued our room to another person and she was on her way up and to please tell her to return to the lobby. The next morning, at approx 5:30am, we received a wake up call from the front desk. We had never asked for one. (I think the lady who was additionally assigned to our room had requested one and they forgot to change the room number.

The Sleep Inn in Urbandale, has very friendly staff, nice room, and quality amenities. While the A/C control was difficult to figure out and unique for hotel stays that I have experienced, the features in the room were quite nice. The best feature of the amenities is that they have and inforce an Adult Quality Time in the pool and hot tub.
