Mediocre stay in Sun Valley

The hotel is a bit run down which is apparent from the moment you go to find the lobby and through the rest of the stay as you see your room. The location is great and convenient to the Ketchum/Sun Valley area and cheaper than staying at the Sun Valley Lodge.

Condition of hotel is poor including:
1. Cracked & peeling ceiling paint
2. Stained curtains
3. Poorly flushing toilets
4. Gym is in a former garage that requires them to open the garage door...never once were the leaves, etc. swept up in the gym.
5. Most annoying was the fact it took 10-15 minutes to get hot water in the shower at any time of day.

This is a nice hotel right in the center of all of the Ketchum shopping and restaurants. The staff was very kind and accommodating.
The hotel has a great indoor pool and jacuzzi.

It was our 29th wedding The Hotel was everything I expected and more. My wife fell in love with the room and the tub in the room. Planing on staying again and this time we will bring our grandkids they will love the indoor pool. Well worth the money spent.

The hotel staff is wonderful. We were able to check in early and they were so helpful with directions. The beds are very comfortable and as far as continental breakfasts go, they have a lot to offer. The view of Sun Valley Ski area from the Best Western parking lot is amazing. Close to everything in town.

The Austrian theme well stated in construction of the hotel. Continental breakfast was well above most. The location was excellent. One of the most quiet hotels we have stayed at anywhere.

If you're going to be staying in Ketchum, I highly recommend looking elsewhere. The "king bed" was 2 twin beds pushed together with an uncomfortable connector in the middle that made the bed have a large hump. The room was dingy and everything was outdated and musty. There was a shortage of outlets and we had to choose between having the light plugged in or the alarm clock. There is no maid service and you have to bring extra towels to use in the pool since they don't provide any. The pool was dirty and had tons of bugs floating around in it anyway. There was a very large jacuzzi tub in our room, but the thing looked so dirty that we didn't even want to use it. There is also no AC unit, which would be fine if we weren't staying there in the summer. Even with the small desk fan and the window open the whole way, we hardly got any sleep because the room was so hot and stuffy. We also booked a "deluxe room" which was supposed to include a microwave and mini fridge, but it had neither. The staff was very friendly, but that is literally the only good thing about this place. For the same price, we could have stayed down the street at the Best Western Kentwood Lodge (where our friends stayed) which had much cleaner, nicer rooms and an ACTUAL king bed. Please don't book this waste of money!

Our Fun Adventure in Ketchum

Went to Sun Valley/Ketchum in order to do some cross country skiing in one of the most wonderful spots to do this sort of thing. Prebooked one bedroom condo which was very well located and the town is very walkable--didn't seem to be more than 8 blocks in any direction and they have free shuttle buses to take people to the slopes. Very nice local movie theater at about 6.50 senior rates.
Although The condo unit was spacious, the thermostats were very quirky and it usually seemed either too warm in the unit or a little chilly. While my wife had a normal sized pillow, I had a mini pillow which was not the greatest.
While there, we signed up for a sleigh ride. The sleigh help up to 18 people and was pulled by two of the largest horses on earth. We went about 40 minutes through the woods to a restaurant for a, although a little costly, wonderful meal and then back on the sley. This was at night and it was literally freezing cold. We were bundled up, however, and were provided blankets, as well. The night sky/stars was the most wonderous thing we have ever seen. All in all, a great 5 day get-away.

Helpful staff, nice condo[...]. I searched for a hotel in Ketchum and the address used by the main leasing office is in Ketchum on Main Street. The condo assigned to us was in Sun Valley almost 10 miles away. We wanted to be close to our family and that is why we chose the this address. The stay was great just wish they said on their hotel site that locations can vary with rentals.

The closest hotel to ski-in ski-out in Sun Valley. The Bald Mountain Inn is just 100 yards from Sun Valleys Warm Springs Lodge and ski lifts. In the winter walk across the street to the ski lifts and enjoy our outdoor hot tub after a day on the slopes or experience snowshoeing on the areas many groomed trails. In spring summer and fall enjoy nearby mountain biking hiking trails fly fishing natural hot springs and more in this scenic recreation wonderland. All guest rooms have fully-equipped kitchenettes and cozy gas fireplaces many have jetted tubs. Rooms feature wood furnishings and dramatic rich colors in a European style. All amenities are free of charge. The front desk offers limited service and hours however an after hours number is provided and can be used if you have any concerns during your stay. Late check ins see desk. Housekeeping is limited to guests staying four nights or longer and then only by request.

Nice studio for long stay

I stayed at the lodge during the slow season, summer. Staff was not always onsite, but reachable by phone. Bald Mountain Lodge would be a great spot to stay for a winter week and go skiing. It's on the local free bus route to the lifts. The kitchenette would be nice for bringing your own groceries for simple cooking. Fireplace, TV, and sitting area would be nice for a relaxing evening.

The Greyhawk condominiums offer some of the best rates for mid-class Warm Springs units. These condos were built 25-30 years ago and offer access to wading pool, hot tub and a very easy walk to the ski lifts. They are fully equipped, in some units the third bedroom is usually a loft, remaining open on one side to living room below, but has full bath. The Greyhawk condominiums are located in Warm Springs about a half block to the Challenger and Greyhawk lifts and close to apres ski spots. The SnowRun condominiums are cute, comfortable studio lofts within walking distance of the Warm Springs lifts. All the units have had partial remodels within the last two years. Perfect for one or two people, this complex has a great location that is a short walk to the lifts for skiing or a short ride to mountain or road biking. This unit is affordable and is perfect for the outdoor couple. Check-in is at 200 West River St, located at the corner of Second Ave. and River St. in the Camas building. Housekeeping service schedule is upon departure only. Check-in time is 4PM and check-out time is 10AM. Minimum age required for check-in is 25.
