It Was Okay
My experience was 50/50 here. When I checked in, my room key wouldn't work at first... and then it wouldn't work the second time... and then I had to go get it fixed a third time until it finally worked. Once I got in, the room was extremely comfy. I loved the king sized bed, 2 different types of pillows (soft & firm), the beautiful TV, and the A/C (best part of the room). The bathroom was extremely clean. Literally spotless!! Not really sure if this is a downside but there were literally a million towels in there in all sizes. Didn't know why one small bathroom needed 5 bath towels and at least 10 hand towels. Overall, this place was a great experience. I'm definitely staying here again when I go back to Chicago!!

friendly place. nice rooftop pool.
Also PH floor laundry facilities near beautiful pool. Stayed there during Phish shows at UIC Chicago. The staff was very welcoming to the Phish Phans. The staff took it in stride when they discovered the ISH painted by the PH button on the elevator. Thank you for a real good time! They have a smoking floor. Sign up for the club to save on parking. Can walk to many great Chicago places. Good times!!

Holiday Inn Downtown
Went to a cubs game...was right next to the L and was convenient for traveling to the game. Very standard rooms and hotel .. nothing special but still if you are just going to the hotel to sleep then should have no complaints.

Money-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
Find a bus stop, there's a map with all the bus numbers and where do they go. A lot cheaper than taxis by a mile.

Great Location
Stayed here for the 10-10-10 Chicago Marathon. It was a great location right by the Subway Blue Line and within easy walking distance of many restaurants, the Willis Tower, and Grant Park (The Marathon Start). The staff was helpful and friendly, and the Breakfast Buffet was great and not very expensive. A bit pricey, but that's to be expected for the great location.

Happy anniversary
great hotel for the price
The staff was friendly and very helpful. The room was comfortable and clean. It was located just a parking lot away from a stop on the blue line which made sight seeing quite easy. No grocery or convenience stores within walking distance which was inconvenient since we didn't have a vehicle.

Time-saving tip:
Not Applicable
Familiarize yourself with the train and bus routes and schedules as soon as possible. We could have saved ourselves lots of time and walking if we had just known which bus to take after getting of the main train line.
