Boutique luxury in the heart of the Gold Coast
In Chicago, the rule for downtown real estate is the closer to Lake Michigan, the more posh the address. Enter the Raffaello Hotel, a four-star hotel just steps from the lake and Magnificent Mile with a Michelin-rated chef and executive suites. Blending old-world aesthetics with modern conveniences, the hotel manages luxury and intimacy while being near the downtown hub. Stepping into the vintage building just off the tourist drag, guests are more likely to feel like Gold Coast residents than tourists. Raffaello Hotel offers Drumbar, a rooftop speakeasy-style inside lounge and outdoor garden terrace, found in the 18th floor.
Highlights
  • Walk to the Magnificent Mile
  • Next to the John Hancock Center
  • Rooftop sundeck
  • Upscale Italian fare at Pelago
  • Sanctuary fitness center with Precor fitness equipment
Rooms
Staying in this vintage building poses several advantages. The Raffaello Hotel offers rooms with high ceilings and architectural details for a unique, high-class vintage stay. Butterscotch-hued bedding and drapes match the walls, while high ceilings --painted stark white--stun with their beam construction. All rooms feature rainfall showerheads, GUYandGIRL amenities, 32-inch LCD TV, iHome and iPod players and 340-count linens. Rooms, which come in king, double double and suite versions are hard-wire and Wi-Fi enabled.
Features
Any Chicagoan will encourage a newcomer to put dining and an architectural experience on the itinerary. At the Raffaello Hotel, both needs are satisfied thanks to Pelago, the upscale Italian seafood restaurant and the rooftop garden, which is open from late spring to late fall. From the sundeck, guests can take in glorious views of the skyline, including Navy Pier and the next door neighbor: the John Hancock Center.

Great location at a good price

This was a very nice Boutique hotel -- we had a a suite 1605 with 2 17 year old boys. The sofa bed was not too comfortable View was very nice- parking was fine (a little hassle) the self park - was not really -- you drove to the ramp where it was valet parked for you. Just took a little more time. Roof top bar very nice - but we were a bit too old for it. All in all a very good experience and will return.

bachelor party

Deluxe suites were very nice and spacious. For some reason showers only had half a door, so we had to use a bunch of towels to dry the floor every time. Hotel is only 1 block from the lake and is fairly close to the red line. Right next door to the John Hancock Tower. Walking distance to a lot of restaurants, bars, shopping and the Navy Pier. Very nice, popular, upscale rooftop bar with a great view of the lake.

Easy place to be for a week in the city

The room was great and comfortable for an extended stay. Easy access to Michigan Ave, public transportation and restaurants. Staff was friendly and helpful. Was disappointed they were already full and I could not extend my stay.

Quick one night stay

The hotel lobby is very small with tiny elevators to get to your room, but they have the best doughnut shop and amazing rooftop bar. However, the 21+ bar is only open later. If you are looking for a great, clean, modern boutique hotel room in Chi town- I highly recommend this hotel. I believe this hotel is better suited for a single, couple or group of friends than a family.
