Great honeymoon location
Had our honeymoon at Hotel 71 and it was everything I was hoping for and more. The staff was very helpful, kind, and professional. Great location to fill the time, a few blocks from Michigan Ave., 5 mins. walk from Millennium Park and plenty of local restaurants to eat at. The room had huge windows to see the whole river and Chicago scenery. Even though we were high up in the building on the 30th floor, if we were on the 4th the view of the river would still be the greatest. The Keurig in the room is what really sold it to my wife. The bathroom had a very modern look and it was Big! The bed was out of this world soft with the pillow top. Thoroughly satisfied enough to make this my official Chicago hotel when we visit.

Dining tip:
Long walk from hotel
The Signature Room at the Willis Tower(Sears Tower) was amazing. Dining over 1,000 ft. up, set the mood for a romantic dinner with the Chicago night skyline. Pricey but worth every penny.

Clean, Comfortable, Spacious and Stylish
The hotel was conveniently located right on the Chicago River. Its just a short walk from the blue line. To our surprise it was central to the many attractions we had on our list. Millenium Park. Magnificent Mile to name a few. Check in was a breeze with helpful and friendly staff. The room was perfect. We were pleasantly surprised at how spacious and stylish our room was. We were guests for 5 nights so we needed ample closet space. There was plenty of room in the spacious closet that had shelving in it. As well, there were 2 dressers for all our clothes. We didn't have to cram anything. Two other faves in the room were the keurig coffee maker and the ceiling mounted rain shower head (heavenly) in the huge bathroom. Both made getting up easy! The only minor bump was that the lounge closed earlier then posted hours so if we wanted a cocktail at the end of the evening we had to go back out. All in all this was one of the best hotel experiences at a great price. We highly recommend Hotel 71 when you stay in Chicago.

I was unaware until we arrived at the Willis Tower (formerly Sears tower) that all the food venues at the building are closed on the weekend. In fact many of the restaurants and coffee houses in the surrounding area were closed. When I asked the attendant at the Tower, where we could go, he advised that we go towards Michigan Ave (Millennium Park) for eateries on the weekend.

Awesome location and a great room.
Hotel 7 just had renovations done and let me tell you they have done a magnificent job. The view from the room was sensational -looking over the majestic river. The amenities were over the top, and the facilities were so pristine. They even had a TV in the bathroom! I know right?

I recommend you do not drive and park. All the parking places were really expensive!! The transit system in Chicago is great, so fly / or find another place further away. The Blue line took me directly from Ohare to a stop that was a short walk to the hotel!

Always Satisfied
This is a classy hotel with very comfortable rooms and an absolutely beautiful view. They have valet survice, if you'd like, but there is affordable self parking less than a block away. It is right down town, so you are close to the action, but if you need a taxi, one is stationed there for your convenience. I've been to Hotel 71 several times and have always had a good experience.

Spring Break Getaway
Overall this hotel provided a fairly decent experience. There was something missing however. Whether it was the lack of door man service or the construction going on right outside of our door I am unsure. We were out of the room most the time though so the construction was a minor annoyance. Just make sure not to get stuck in a room right next to the elevator. I have been to Chicago many times and this hotel seemed lackluster when compared to others.

Good but not great
The staff was always courteous and helpful, but the cleanliness of the rooms left something to be desired. The bathrooms in particular were not cleaned well. It is definitely not a higher end hotel, with no concierge and a single bellman at any one time. The restaurant/bar was desolate most of the time. However, the price and location make this a decent hotel; it wouldn't be my top pick, but if it was all that is available I wouldn't avoid it.
