Good experience

Good Springfield Hotel
My Mom and I stayed there before we went to the State Fair. Check-in was very easy. The room was very clean and the beds were comfy. The breakfast in the morning was really good. They had a variety of items, including hot items. Very good deal for the price!

Not Worth the Price
I travel at least once a month for business and this was my first experience with a Holiday Inn Express. Unfortunately, I think it will be my last. I had heard good things about this chain from someone who has stayed at several during a road trip out west. Perhaps this is just a bad location, but I won't be taking my chances again. My room was dirty and for a hotel which doesn't offer much else in the way of amenities, I think they should be on top of their game here. There was a barrette from a previous guest laying on the floor, the remote control was filthy and there were stains all along the wall which looked like something had exploded and was allowed to drip down the wall without anyone attempting to clean it up. There is a neighboring Crowne Plaza which appears quite nice. Since they are part of the same group, you can order room service from the CP and it will be brought over to your room at the Holiday Inn. I ordered a salad and a baked potato and waited an hour and a half for it to arrive. To add insult, the gentleman who answered the phone at the Crowne Plaza and took my order was VERY rude. I could go on, but I think this is sufficient. Don't stay here unless you don't care about manners or cleanliness.

Friendly and clean
Very helpful staff with planning our tour of the area. The person in charge of overseeing the breakfast, which had a large variety of good food, was right on top of everything.

Be sure to pick up a map of the Lincoln historical sights. The city can be a little confusing, but the front desk had a very helpful map.

Nice, Quite, Great Breakfast
I was attending a conference at the Crown Plaza next door. The Holiday Express got me away from the crowds. With four floors the elevator ride was short and nice. The Crown Plaza has a back entrance so it is only a short twenty foot walk outside between hotels. The Crown's back entrance is not pretty or handicapped accessable entrance but (thankfully) I didn't have to care about that.

Great rooms
We were visiting with family. While the room was clean and nice, the coffeemaker pot had a crack in the spout and the lid was broken. We would have liked to have had a fridge. Some other hotels we have stayed in had them and at a lower cost.

Good Basic Accommodations
Clean, neat, convenient to Interstate 55. Across from Crowne Plaza which had nice bar, restaurant to walk to.
