This hotel is very expensive for what they offer. that said it is the best of Bloomington Indiana so be prepared to pay. Staff is very nice.

not bad for the price....especially if your not going to be spending much time in the room...built in safe and mini fridge dont hurt either...not to disspointed since i was there for a wedding and pretty much used the facilities minimally...had trouble getting acces to their wi fi though.....good location near lots of restraunts and stores....shares a parking lot with red lobster....thats always a thumbs up

This is by no means a luxury hotel. It's your basic motel, with hallways made of cinder blocks (reminiscent of a dormitory). However, the rooms were spacious and clean. The location was great -- near shopping and IU.

The front desk is outstanding. I made an error and booked a smoking room, when I asked for a different room, they immediately found me a new one. The breakfast is wonderful. The staff is great. Love the accent.

This hotel has some of the nicest and most helpful staff. The location is a bit out of walking range of downtown, but the rooms are lovely and in 3 minutes by car one is in the heart of Bloomington and the IU campus. The free breakfast is varied. Everyone can find something to enjoy. You cannot beat this place for cleanliness.

The room was very nice and the bed was comfortable. With this type of hotel it would have been nice to have some sort of free breakfast included in the price. Other than that it was a very nice stay and will stay here in the future.

It was an adequately equipped, well maintained, though overpriced room. The breakfast buffet is a ripoff. The fixtures were top of the line contemporary pieces that were out of place in an architectural structure this old. This is especially true of the bathroom facilities. The rooms were dim though there were plenty of lamps.

Good for what we needed

This was a hotel that was good for what we needed - a cheap room for homecoming. While we, my husband and I, wished it were closer to the campus (we had a long walk back to the room), it was a clean room, with a TV, microwave and mini fridge, though it did seem quite old and dingy.
The staff was wonderful - helpful, pleasant, and efficient.
Note you can't rent movies and there are limited channels, though that wasn't really why we got the room.
My biggest issue was probably the thinness of the walls. We woke up several times throughout the night to what seemed like someone speaking right out side our room (literally, outside, and we were on the 4th floor). I thought several times that someone knocked on our door, but it was neighboring rooms. If you are looking for a good night's sleep, this would not be my first choice.
However, we were very grateful for the excellent staff and cheap room to enjoy a night back in our favorite place with all our friends.

Good location New carpets. Beds on thrid floor comfortable, room clean bathtub yukky. Second floor smoking room was just that (we had 2 rooms) a smoking room needed more work. We all slept on 3rd floor in the 2 queen size beds.It should get better

Pleasant place, but lacking in caring for details, e.g. no soap in the room; no one at the main desk at 8AM for checkout; didn't appear that the restaurant was open in the evening (one could eat at the bar).

We were visiting for mom's weekend @ IU. The location is good but access is a little restricted due to road construction and it will be awhile before completion. The complimentary breakfast was above average and the room was very nice,nicer than we expected. The only complaint is the lawn mowing crew started very early and awoke us.There is free internet and a small work-out area.We stayed here because we were late in reserving [...]! I would stay here again. Everyone...guests and staff were nice and helpful.

We attended the Hilly Hundred bicycle ride that started in Ellettsville, 7 miles west. Except for the traffic on Route 46 getting into and out of the motel, it was great. The staff was very freindly and helpful with local restaurants. For our purpose, the motel was very handy and easy to get to. I would and have recommended it to anyone to stay there.

We went into Bloomington to check out the campus and city to help in the decision about graduate school. The hotel was in a nice location, not too far from downtown. The room was wonderful. My only complaint was the stomping all night from the room/hall upstairs. We didn't really have the time to check out the pool or workout room, but it was great to know those were available.

This motel was OK but really nothing special. Pool was not available/unusable, there was no elevator, no fridge/microwave in room, NOTHING is within walking distance or accessible by foot, the staff didn't know how to call a cab for me, the beds were not comfortable and the bedspread was dirty. The ice machine was also out of order! I expected a bit better from this place.

The hotel served it's purpose as a place to stay that was close to the university. The prices seemed very high for the value but they were probably jacked up because of the college football game. The bathroom door did not open all the way because of the new shower curtain bar. The hotel was easy to get in an out of and was in a good place to either go into town or get on the major access highways. The hotel an indoor pool but no workout area.

Overall the stay was fine. However, there was a weird musty smell to the hotel and the sheets were dirty. They did have a good breakfast though and the staff was friendly!

It's Scottish, Value or Amenities

It was a clean bed with a good shower in a decent location on one of the busiest weekends in IU football history. The big chains were booked up weeks & in some cases months in advance. The Scottish Inn is REAL AVERAGE, but it's all we needed, and we didn't pay more than we should have.

It was an average Motel 6..nothing special but not horrible either. They had upgraded since the last time I stayed there, but it was still not fancy. Good value and location for the price though.

Fine, bare bones, but fine. There was a bed, TV and a clean bathroom that worked. That what I expected and that is what I got.
We liked the fact that it was so close to the stadium that parking was never an issue. A number of places were nearby if we needed to pick up something or grab a bite to eat.
