Days Inn Elkhart

Perfect location for notre dame trip. Close proximity to restaraunts and stadium. Very reasonably priced with helpful staff!

We went to visit for an ND game. This hotel is the worst one around there, you're better off anywhere else. There's nothing "newly remodeled" about the rooms. There were bugs, burns on all of the bedding. Housekeeping came in when there was a do not disturb sign on the door. I can't think of anything good to say about this stay.

We went to a Notre Dame football game. Our group of 13 stayed Thursday - Sunday. Thursday: Could not check in until rooms were cleaned. Ironically, we found old food in rooms from previous guests. Friday: Keys did not work. Requested service. 2 of our rooms left tip money for maid service. Sheets were not changed. One room, tip money was taken but NO service was provided. When we asked at the desk, we were told we had to request service, but unable to explain money taken. Bathroom ceiling leaked and flooded at 4am. Told maintenance would come, and they never came. Saturday: Requested service. Sheets not changed. Given dirty towels. Keys did not work, had to have them reset. Breakfast was white toast, black coffee, no creamer or milk for coffee. Went to McDonald's across the lot. Never staying at Days Inn again, anywhere. This ruined it.

We were told at time of booking that the pool was going to be open at the time of our trip but when getting there we were then informed that it had been closed and drained the first of September. This was the reason we choose this local so that after a long day of shopping at Shipshawana we could relax in the pool that evening. Not only was the pool not open but the town was a ghost town after 7pm which inturn left me and my friend sitting in the room the rest of the evening with absolutely nothing to do. We were not pleased. The staff was very nice and rooms were respectfuly clean but could have had some klenex in the dispenser, some shampoo and conditioner, an extra roll of toilet paper and much better water pressure as it was only a trickle no matter what setting you turned the dial to.

There are several surrounding restaurants close to the hotel and some shops further down the road. The hotel doesn't have much to offer other than an outdoor pool and SMALL continental breakfast. We opted for McDonalds which is next door.

We went to Elkhart as part of a tour of Northern Indiana. We went because Pres. Obama said it was a needy area, and we wanted to share our presence and money. Elkhart has its needs so we expected some of this. When things didn't work out, the staff was always cordial and effective. But the whole building needs a major overall. Amazingly, we're still happy we went. Elkhart really tried hard.

We just needed a clean, safe room to sleep enroute to time with family in Michigan. The room was surface clean, but needed some deep cleaning. The breakfast was a disappointment as food and milk ran out before breakfast hour was over.

THe fee that I paid Orbitz for this stay was higher than the price that the hotel was advertising on their highway sign. The hotel was just what you would expect for a low price, nothing more, nothing less.
