Convenient; Friendly Staff
Staff was very nice and helpful. The hotel could use some refurbishing and just overall updating, but it was great for my purposes this weekend which was to make a quick visit to see family and have a clean and convenient place to sleep.

I wish the hotel desk had told me about the good restaurants that were within walking distance. They just handed me a brochure with a list. Aside from that gap, the staff was very friendly. They replaced my phone within five minutes. Excellent on the wake-up calls too.

There are three or four nice places just steps away from the hotel. Very good food reasonably priced, terrific service too. South Bend Chocolate, right across the street, has tasty bagels and sandwiches

The hotel is fairly nice but showing its age. The walls are thin enough to hear the tv in the adjoining room. Sometimes brown water from the shower and overall cleanliness is not up to usual marriot standards

Best Option in Downtown South Bend
Definetly request a riverside room above the third floor. Below that its a bit noisy and to close to the kitchen (odors) Pavillion side lacks privacy as many rooms look out on a bank building

Great couples retreat.
We were thinking about staying at the new Hyatt Place in Mishawaka. However we decided to stay at the Marriot in Downtown because it's close to everything in downtown South Bend. We checked in early at the hotel so we can have the hottub, pool and sauna to ourselves. Had lunch a block away at the South Bend Chocolate Company cafe. Later we had a fabulous dinner at a 4 diamond restaurant, Lasalle Grill, right down the street. After dinner, we watch a musical across the street at the Morris Civic Theater. If you want to have a dinner and a theater date, this is the place to stay.

We were able to make dinner reservations for Lasalle grill that afternoon. It was early (5:15). But by the time we finished dinner, it was perfect timing to make the musical that started at 8:00pm

A fine stay
Stayed here while in town to see some baseball games. Decent enough hotel, overrun by wedding guests over the weekend. Good location for the College Football Hall of Fame and any other downtown attractions.

ND Visit
We have stayed at this Marriott three times while visiting ND. It's a good location, near good restaurants, and a very short drive to ND. Within walking distance to the College Football Hall of Fame, shops, restaurants and overlooking the river. Very friendly staff, clean rooms. Will definitely stay again!

The Vine Restaurant - a half block from the hotel - was our new spot this trip. Food was great, service very friendly and prices very resonable!
