I like La Quinta, but, it is tough to know whether you are going to end up in a nice new building, or, a really old version like this one in Wichita. I have found a huge variation between particular locations that is frustrating.

Very friendly and capable staff. Room was OK (except for curtain directly over the HVAC unit which I finally controlled with a phone book). This is a very old property (converted from another chain) and it shows in the lobby, elevators and etc. Overall, not as good as I expected from the description [...], nor what I normally expect from La Quinta. Breakfast was better than normal and room in which it was served was nice.

The lady at the front desk was amazingly sweet and courteous. When we needed anything they helped out even when it was just to find a store. This hotel is quiet, clean, and has great customer service.

The only thing that bears mentioning is the total lack of security.Drug dealers occupied at least two rooms near ours.There were angry visitors banging on their doors and screaming loud threats and obscenities late into the night.Earlier that evening, we had seen one of the hotel desk workers fraternizing with the unruly guests.The police came due to another guest's complaint about the noise, and we seriously considered calling the police too.One of the front desk clerks was robbed on Thanksgiving, and now guests must check in and conduct other business through a glass window after dark, despite it being cold.The hotel has interior corridors accessing the rooms, and they are accessible via doors to the exterior, which required no key card to enter so are open to all.Finally, the hotel bedding and other appointments were old and contained the hair of previous guests, and there was an odor.Please do not stay at this hotel. For your personal safety and peace of mind. [...]should not list it nor should Day's Inn allow its brand on it.

The staff was very friendly and helpful. Decor, layout, rooms very attractive and clean. Would definitely stay there again, despite disappointing breakfast. Have had better free breakfasts than this one. They do have a choice of hot breakfasts cooked to order, at 8.95.

also, I leave the bathroom light on as a night light while sleeping in hotel rooms and this one was on some kind of timer and would go off and on automatically - even went off on me while in the shower.

Look out over Wichita

The stay was great, and staff was incredible. The only issue was that it is obvious that the hotel management obviously doesn't look out the windows from the rooms on the upper levels. If they did, there shouldn't be the trash compactor with trash and pallets piled around it, the roof on the Green Mill was dirty and disgusting, and there was trees growing inside the generator area. In my opinion the experience is what is outside also, not just the inside of the room, and the point to having a top floor room is to look out the window, so shouldn't you maybe do some maintenance on the outside of the building?

Overall this is a decent hotel. However, the picture is misleading considering there is another part of this hotel behind the tower, which is where my room was situated. This section of the hotel is more like a drive up motel where your room is accessed from the parking lot instead of the actual hotel tower, made me feel a little cheated but had both positive and negative attributes to it. The positive: easy access to my car since I was parked right outside the room, the negative: was noisy, especially in the AM when people were walking around outside and overhead plus a reduced sense of security with having the door of my room directly outside. I felt the room was overpriced for having a motel like feel. Had I been in the tower, I might have a different opinion of this hotel. I'd stay again only if the price was competitive.

When we arrived they told us they didn't have a suite with two queen beds but offered us two suites which had king size beds no additional charge. The rooms were a nice size. My son liked them very much since he had one of the suites to himself. Hotel was not far from where we were going to visit.
Staff was very pleasant and helpful. They offered a nice breakfast buffet every morning. We enjoyed our stay there and when I go to Wichita I would not hesitate to stay there again.

Rooms are exceptionally spacious and with a kitchenette. Staff is extremely informed and very helpful. It is missing an indoor pool, but other than that, I am already planning my next trip and will be staying there again.

The Best Western was very good. It is a pretty new property and the room was spacious with a separate swinging door on the closet. It also had a mini refrigerator, microwave, and coffee pot.
The bathroom was very spacious. You didn't have to climb over the toilet to get into the tub like most hotel rooms.
The breakfast that was included was excellent: hot and cold cereals, eggs and sausages, yogurt, biscuits and gravy, and fresh banana. And of course coffee.
The only difficulty is in finding the place. While the address is clear, it is located off the service road of E. Kellogg. If you are actually on E. Kellogg, even with a GPS, you can be driving round and round, trying to figure out how to circle back to get to the hotel. Drove my GPS crazy.

We stayed here for a night while passing through. The hotel was cheap and clean. It looked more modern, owing to the fact that the hotel is very new (within the last 2 years. The included breakfast was a nice amenity. The only downside is being in Wichita.

Wonderful hotel, nice location for us since we were attending the state track meet. Good breakfast--yummy biscuits & sausage gravy. My ONLY complaint was that there were't quite enough towels--two of everything and that was it.

This was a family outing to be with the family at Christmas time. The hotel was great and the staff are the friendliest I have seen about anywhere. They really made us feel welcome. The room was clean and well kept. All services were good with the exception of the restaurant. We ate there one time for breakfast. Although the food was good, I felt the restaurant levied tip for the wait staff was a bit excessive. There were 5 people in our party which resulted in two separate checks for the meal. On each check there was tip money added for a large party (we had only five people, most large parties a 8 people) and another tip for the service/gratuity. Okay to give out tips for good service, I have no problem with that but a total of 4 separate tips on 2 separate checks was excessive. The total tip amount for just breakfast for 5 people was near or maybe even over $20. That is ridiculous and I feel someone should address that with the Marriott. It does not seem like the typical operating practice for a Marriott facility.

great price for the room

The hotel was nice overall. The room was alot smaller than I expected. The tv was very small, it was on a pedestal and looked very awkward in the room. I was on the first floor and the second night there was soo much noise. The police were there in the earling morning hours. When I checked out in the morning, the police were there because apparently someone stole things from the front desk and vandalized some things, so did not sleep well the second night there.

It was a nice room and a QUIET hotel. I have been in a few hotels that were so noisy. But this one was great. The only real complaint is that we couldn't find the street. It's right next to the highway and a little hard to get to. But once we found it, it was no problem.

This motel was very clean and a very good value. The water pressure in the shower was a little low but other than that a great room. I would stay again!

I really enjoyed the staff, the location, and the room. Had a pretty good breakfast too! Inside and outside pool with hot tub. The pool is a little small. Big bang for your buck!

We really like this hotel, the room was very spacious, nice and comfortable. All the furniture was comfortable. The price was good, and all the amenities were great. Esp. the hot tub. Here is our only complaints. The pool was too cold to swim in, my wife loves the cold and she could not even get into the pool, that's cold! There was no pay per view station like HBO, SHO, or something. The fridge, and heater were noisy. Other than that it was a great stay. The breakfast buffet was good, I believe they need fresh fruit. Would we stay again? YES....

Friendly staff, decent beds, contenetial breakfast was decent, worst part was we closed the door in the bathroom and saw 1 dead bug! Could have been a fluke and it was the only one we saw! Good price for a overnight passthrough!

The people were very nice but I got a smoking room. While the room itself was not bad the floor had a strong odor of cigarette smoke which is a trigger for my migraines. Other wise the hotel staff was very friendly especially during breakfast.

We were visiting family, and the hotel was adequate; the room was spacious and had all we needed in the kitchen area too. The pay as you go pantry is a nice add-on. Hotel is perhaps overpriced for the area and for the degree of service from the staff. Maintenance guy who came to check on the internet service which we weren't using and didn't report as a problem was a little odd, but he was the friendliest staff we encountered. Christmas day check-in with a texting, indifferent clerk, one other night got to hotel to find card key not working and another clerk seemed suspicious and grumpy. I brought it to her attention and she said she was working on two hours sleep. Overall we expect better service from hotels in Wichita, but the location is very good for us and the room was comfortable so we might go back.

We were traveling with our dogs and just wanted a nice inexpensive place to sleep over night. Well it was inexpensive and they did not charge extra for pets. The room was very small. Shower curtain did not fit the shower and sink had very little counter space. I would not suggest a single bed room unless you're traveling alone. The room and hall seemed a bit run down which was surprising for having been renovated less than two years ago. The staff was friendly and checking in & out was smooth. The old adage is true. You get what you pay for.

Everyone was very friendly. The breakfast was the best continental breakfast I ever had. Krispy Kreme !!!! I travel fairly often and I would definitly stay there again.

Very comfortable stay.. Management is very attentive; little indications like a very well maintained DVD/VHS library with a player in each room. I had a package sent to me and they let me know within a very short time after it arrived.

My husband and I are the proud parents of 8 great kids. However like every parent knows some time away is a great escape, we planned this getaway for a little romance and refresh time, IT WAS AMAZING!!!! The motel was great, very easy to get to, the cleanliness was awesome. The beds were good, we are used to sleeping on our 12" memory foam matress, so it was a bit of a change, but the beds were comfortable. The staff were excellent, the room was a nice comfortable retreat. I will definatly be booking us a room here again in six months.....I strongly recomend this hotel....
