Money's worth

LaQuinta wasn't fancy with lots of amenities, but it was comfortable, very clean and convenient to things on the north side of Lexington, KY. the breakfast was better than I expected and the the staff was curteous and helpful. When looking for an economical nights rest, this would be a good one.

Great Visit

We met up with family to explore Kentucky and go to the Festival of the Bluegrass. La Quinta was convenient to everywhere we wanted to go. Staff was friendly and quick to fix anything that wasn't quite right. Breakfast was fresh and filling - especially the waffles!

The Chinese buffet at the Happy Dragon was great! The food was hot with an amazing variety, including tasty raw oysters on the weekend. It was so good we went twice in our 5 day visit.

Acceptable Lodging

nice room, comfortable bed. Breakfast is OK. I meant to select a place with a fitness center. This La Quinta did not have one.

Only if you have to...

At first checkin, the ceiling fell out of the bathroom in the first room because of so much rain. We were moved to a second room, which the electrical outlet was very unsafe (not very secure). The beds were wonderful, though. One thing I thought was weird was the window opened up fully to the outside. I would only stay again because they have the "make your own waffle" area at the continental breakfast - yummy!

Not the greatest place.

The first room they put us in was a non smoking room that reeked of smoke and the toilet was running non stop. They gave us a new room. The toilet would not flush unless you stood there and held the handle down until all the water emptied in the bowl. The ac sounded like a freight train coming. The room was not cleaned very well (hairs, lint, bottle cap beside bed, spots on mirror, etc..) We never use the bed spread, but the under side of it had yellow stains all over it. I was too tired to complain again as we were traveling 1700 miles in 3 days. Would not stay there again.

Outdated and in need of maintenance

Traveling through area. Stayed for one night. Breakfast was below La Quinta standards as was the room. Outdated decor, bathroom in need of maintenance, towel rod was held up by a wad of tissue so that it didn't pull out of wall. Would choose different motel if passing through area again.

A Nice Friendly Hotel

This hotel has an excellent location with the Cracker Barrel which we walked to. It was directly across the parking lot of the hotel. The staff was extremely friendly, helpful ; Including the house cleaners. I would definityly stay there again if my trips bring me this way again. The Pet friendly is my main concern and this establishment is well disigned for this ! Thank again La Quinta

This unit is virtually around the corner from the Kentucky Horse Park which is the reason for our visit to Lexington and you can book tours from the motel. Nice.

Worst Hotel I have ever stayed at.

This hotel was shabby on the outside. The room seemed okay at first but when I pulled the covers back I found hairs on the covers, the sheets were stained and the beds felt covered in sand. The toilets were hard to flush. I had to hold the handle down to get it to flush and the cold water was almost impossible to turn on. The garbage cans did not have bags in them and the coffee pot was dirty. On the hotel website they said they had a large continental breakfast and the staff would make you a fresh waffle. That is a LIE. They only had a few choices for breakfast and the staff did not help with the waffles. In fact, the staff yelled at me because I didn't turn the waffle maker the correct way. I tried to ask for help as I had just recently had surgery and was trying to make a waffle with one hand. Also, the hallways are not lit well and the ice machine is not in a great location.

Noisy and run down

The hotel is very close to the interstate and does not have good sound proofing in the rooms. We slept very poorly due to noise from other people staying at the hotel and truck noise from the highway. Everything had a look of being kind of shabby and not very well maintained. The ice machine sounded like it was in our room instead of down the hall. we had to fiddle with the TV power cord and plug it into another outlet in order to get it to work. On the plus side they did have a nice breakfast with bagels, muffins, cereal and fresh fruit all available. The bed was comfortable. The bathroom while not filthy wasn't exceptionally clean either. We have ccertainly stayed in much nicer hotels that are in the same price range.

There's a Cracker Barrel right across the street. While not fine dining by any means it's convenient and was OK for a quick meal after a long day of driving.
