Americas Best Inn and Suites Lafayette

My husband and I stayed here, next door to my parents for a weekend trip. Upon entering the rooms for the first time, the overuse of air freshener should have been an early indication that they were trying to hide something. Indeed, it reared its ugly head by morning. Both rooms smelled like a moldy locker room - musty, stale and funky. The bathrooms have no ventilation or fan - so smells just linger. The staff was unbelievably LOUD - slamming their carts against doors and walls, singing and or yelling to each other down the hall. During our 2nd night, there was some sort of argument or fight that started in a room next door that escalated and continued in the hallway. We mentioned this twice to the front desk only to be told by the guy "I didn't hear anything, no one said anything about it." No apology, no promise to look into it...nothing. VERY poor customer service. When I invited him to step into our room to enjoy the wonderful aroma for himself, all I got was "Well, you are checked out and free to go." WOW! . The ONLY good things this place has going for it is the free breakfast (though the selection is hit or miss with serving dishes being empty) AND the location. This was a first and last stay for us and since the customer service response I received was so unprofessional, uncaring - so disconnected (clearly this man was just collecting a check), I shall find every site that allows for reviews and share my experience to help others.

Checked in with great expectations; quickly disappointed. Man at the counter was too busy on a personal call to wait on me. Parked on the side where the room was located as directed by the man. Walked in the room only to be greeted by such a foul odor. It was the worst attempt for an air freshener. Everywhere you looked was marked with dirty stains on the walls. Everything felt dirty. Attempted to leave through the door to my car and the door did not have a handle to leave. Entered through the door, but can't leave through it. We had to walk all the way around the hotel. Went to eat and then come back and check out the pool; only because of the kids. Came back and got in the pool. The pool obviously is not kept up. Was disgusted enough that we got dressed and checked out without staying the night. I DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS FACILITY.

In town for a family reunion and choose to stay at this hotel because we had stayed there years before. However, things have certainly changed relative to the room condition. There was a tremendous about of condensation build up on the batheroom ceilings and around the windows. So much so that mold began to grow on the ceiling and walls of the bathroom.

Have stayed here several times. My experience has been generally positive. Kitchen stays on top of the full breakfast which is in demand. They keep the indoor pool and area clean. Big draw for kids. Could use more towels. The desk seems a bit understaffed, but no compliants about rooms or staff in my experience. More than adequate for reasonable rates. I will be back.

I checked in at 5:00pm and went back to work. I returned at 3:15am. I asked the front desk would it be possible to check out late. The man at the desk says "sure I'll give ya 30 more minutes". He then wrote a note for the staff the next day. I left the do not disturb sign in the lock I got 3 calls one at 10:00am one at 10:30am and one at 11:00am all wondering when I would be checking out so they could clean my room. I finally got up and went down to the desk and ask why I was being harassed? They said house keeping was a different department. The note on my account was just for billing purposes. I will not be staying there again.

Was visiting son's in laws family reunion and our new grandbaby's christening/We really enjoyed the indoor pool and hot tub.Although the weather was not so good outside,It was nice inside to be able to just relax at the inside pool. Most other hotels did not have this. It was very nice and clean. Our only problem was the room could have used some paint. Oh, and we really enjoyed our hot breakfast!!

The first room we got was dirty, and the sink leaked. Maintanance quickly came, and we were given an upgrade. The next room was very disgusting. There was hair on the bathroom floor, urine on the toilet, and particles on the carpet. It was as if the room wasn't even cleaned, but there were new towels. I had my husband buy lysol cleaner, and I cleaned it myself. The next day, the janitorial staff did a great job cleaning the room, even changing the bed sheets. Thank goodness because I wouldn't even sleep on or under the covers the night before. I do not recommend this hotel.

The America's Best Inns was a good place to stay for the money. It was clean and comfortable. The breakfast was hot with food such as bacon, biscuits, waffles, eggs etc. They also offered evening snacks. The indoor pool was also a plus. We would deffinately stay there again.
