For a decent No-frills+ overnight, pleasently surprised

The location is right off the main highways, so it is easy to find and get back to, the rooms were very clean, had been recently redone, the beds were comfy, the TV was great - 32" with HD & HBO, etc., has a nice little pool - but keep in mind it is a motel - never got a chance to sample the free breakfast but other reviewers said it was good, as expected for the motel. It was nice and cheap, but because it is is nice and cheap, there seem to be a lot of corporate and government contract workers staying there as well, so don't be alarmed by the sound of F350 diesel work trucks being fired up right outside your door, especially early in the AM. I was bit worried about the possible racket from all of these power linemen and construction folks, but hey - they have to get up early so it was nice and quiet by 10 or 11, no problem sleeping. Next time I am in Lafayette and I don't feel like spending over 60, I will probably stay here again.

Stay off Johnston street. when possible - very, very busy and congested, set your satnav for alternate routes. LaFayette is a surprisingly big city. Has a nice park for jogging, next to LSU - LaFayette.

Vacation

My boyfriend and I chose this hotel basically because it was the closest to my family's house. We didn't want a far drive since we spent a lot of our time there. The room itself wasn't bad and was clean and updated. There was wood flooring in the bathroom area which was nice and the TV was exceptional. The staff was really nice and helpful. The breakfast bar was pretty good as well with bagels toast cereal muffins and you could even make your own waffles. The only complaint I have about the room itself is the water pressure was awkward. It would be at full force and then it would suddenly be just dripping. I'm not sure what our room was connected with but you were better off showering at night. Since it's close to the highway there are a lot of trucks that stay there over night and if you're a light sleeper, hearing those things start up in the morning isn't too fun. We had a very pleasant stay though and were right by anything we would have needed!

Dumpster Warning!

Very clean room. Very comfy bed. Dated and a bit funky bathroom but hairdryer and coffee maker convenience balance that out. Dumpster is located in the middle of the back set of rooms, and that very early morning banging is LOUD, so make sure you request a room as far away from the dumpster as possible! Otherwise, good location & good value.

Getaway to Cajun Country

The staff was helpful and very courteous. The breakfast was good. The location was very good to be able to travel in both directions to various get togethers and to various restaurants and locations in Lafayette. Also, Walmart close was a plus if we needed anything.

Relocation from SC to TX

Weary from driving from SC to TX with 2 cats and a U-Haul this was the perfect stop just off of i-10, pet friendly with no extra cost or deposits for the cats...room was clean, free wi-fi meant I could also work the next morning before hitting the road again. Great value and would stay again!

Loved the breakfast and pool

The location was great for everything we needed to get done, with early and late plane arrivals, especially. Driving to local restaurants was convenient. We enjoyed the visitor's center, too. I like the interior park with picnic table; enjoyed a dip in the pool. One small problem...the coffee maker didn't work; our towels did't get changed the first night.

This hotel was unfortunately a "do not recommend". The room was clean, I'll give it that, but it was the kind of hotel where u park and enter ur room from the parking lot. As such, there were cars coming and going all night, right outside the door. But the very worst thing about this hotel, that we didn't know, was it's proximity to train tracks! The train whistles blew all night long! My husband and I proably slept an hour total. We agreed that we won't be going back.

Low price for a reason

A hotel room for around $50/60 is hard to find these days, so I guess La Quinta on Evangeline Thruway could be considered a deal. Beds were comfortable and clean, water hot and plentiful. You just have to overlook the noisy fridge, the crumbling baseboards, the sticky carpet/floor, the too sweet smell disguising something else. Not a place I'd book again, but glad it was there when I needed it.
