Nice area. So may places to shop and eat right across from the hotel. Many places in walking distance. Olive garden is in the same parking lot with the Wingate hotel. We enjoyed our stay.

The Lake Charles/Sulphur Super 8 lacks curb appeal, but the interior more than makes up for that. The rooms are clean, well appointed and professionally decorated, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms open to an interior corridor and I felt very safe with my children. I would stay there again.

The hotel service was very hospitable, everyone was friendly. Room was very small. There was some mold in the bathroom, on the ceiling and upper walls.

Comfort Suites, Lake Charles

I had to change my hotel reservations from a previous hotel the night before that I REFUSED to stay another night in. I was switched to Comfort Suites[...], and was VERY PLEASED!!! The front staff was WONDERFUL and the room was OUTSTANDING!! The only thing I didn't like was the young men "partying" just outside our window and being a little obnoxious. Also, we didn't make it to Breakfast until almost 9:15 and there was almost nothing there and they had already unplugged the warmers so it was cold as well. Overall, I would DEFINITELY stay here again and recommend this to a friend.

Hit the casinos! It was great to relax and sleep in a clean comfortable bed after losing all our money. At least our accommodations were paid for. It really was a great choice and we would stay there again. Actually, our final bill was less than expected. Thanks again.

Everything at the hotel was as advertised and was a good value for the money, however, the jelly at the breakfast bar was either very old or had frozen during the recent cold weather because it was as hard as a rock.

Unfortunately, my experience was less than perfect especially for the price of the room. The sheets were dirty with yellow stains, the floor vending machine was out of order, housekeeping knocks on your door beginning at 8:15 a.m. and finally because I was the only patron in the bar (watching a very important football game Saints vs Atlanta) they told me they were closing early. Hmmm.... the front dest was accommodating in changing rooms and I had to go downstairs to purchase soft drinks. Put your "do not disturb" sign out and you'll be fine. As for the bar.... To leave on a positive note the prices of their room service and portions were very reasonable and tasty. Just make sure that for breakfast you call before 10:00 a.m.

Be sure to put your spouse on the check-in list because they can't check in if their name isn't on the reservation. Even if one staffer says they can, the other will not allow it, and you will be pulled away from your important business to deal with nonsense. The pool was closed before we made it back for the evening which was a bummer. I thought that was silly since it was an indoor pool. They have a restaurant inside so you have to pay for breakfast. The hotel is very beautiful inside. If I wasn't from there, I would have never known that the projects (government housing) is a stone's throw away (literally right across the street). None of the hoodlums bothered us though as the hotel is pretty recessed from the street. The bed was super comfy. The room was quite clean as this is a newer hotel. I felt comfortable letting my son crawl around on the floor. Overall, I felt like I paid too much for what I got, but I felt safe so I won't be too angry. Stay there but bring your own food and stick it in the mini fridge.

Crisis hospital visit for friend

Staff friendliness checking in and out. late nite check in and early chk out did not give me the experience of staying or judging things as well. It met my needs and we will be staying here again in a week or two. This was our second visit here. The first visit was not as good over a few days. We always like Holiday Inn Express stays but they need to upgrade their breakfast bar.

Courteous and helpful staff (declined a tip).
Downside: no shuttle service or food service after breakfast. Air conditioner was very loud.

A New Hotel with Bad Service

The rooms were nice with very comfortable beds and furniture. I thought that hotels with window unit "A/C's" had gone the way of the dinosaur, but not here (very annoying when trying to get restful sleep). Some of the Light switches in the room did not operate the intended lighting. There was a free Continental Breakfast with a fair selection, but horrible service (supplies i.e. forks, napkins, coffee) were empty with no one in sight to refill. The hotel is located between two busy roads and the noise from the traffic is heard in the room. Keep Looking!

The rooms are clean. The bed sleeps better than some of the high-end hotels. The staff is always helpful and accomodating. When we visit the Lake Charles area we always stay at Baymont Suites. You can't get a better room for the price. Believe me I've tried.

Hotel had everything that was NECESSARY for an overnight stay. Other than that, I was very uncomfortable in the room. The couch was dirty, the sheets had cigarette burns on them, and the bathroom was far from clean. If you're just looking for a cheap place to stay and not too worried about aesthetics or cleanliness, this is the place for you. They have free breakfast though- waffles and cereal.

Good location for where we needed to be, but very run-down. Front desk staff was very friendly and helpful.
Sheets were thread bare, wallpaper coming off walls. But was quiet and was okay for one night.

Terrific all the way around

The staff was very friendly. We checked in at almost midnight and the staff at the desk was very helpful with pointing out the room, the best place to park, when breakfast started and ended. It was a good experience all the way around. Clean rooms, nice showers. I would definately stay there again.

Stopped for an overnight stay. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Newly constructed. Pet friendly. Would recommend to anyone in similar circumstances

I was put into a smoking room, when I asked for Non smoking. They did get us moved, however, the room was smelly. The room was just raggedy, the a/c unit rumbled all night. The breakfast was not a breakfast at all, milk was just sitting out. I was just VERY dissappointed, I wouldnt stay here again if it was free.

The workers at Sleep Inn was very nice. There was some type of tournament going on and there were a lot of kids, but it was not noisy. My family and I were place in a handicap room in which we did not ask for........

The staff was very helpful and courteous, my girlfriend had a cast on her foot and they gave us a room on the ground floor so she wouldn't have to walk so far.

The Crossland Sulfur/Lake Charles is conveniently located right off I-10. If you're staying there to avoid the high costs of the Casino Hotels, this is a great pick. Just remember Exit 23 (Sulphur) off I-10.

VERY DISAPPOINTED!!!

Where do I begin. This was looked okay from the outside but once we got to our room it was DISGUSTING!!! We had arrived late and when we got to the door it was molded and we decided to look past it and go inside. Once we got our things in and got settled I got into bed, there was DIRTY SOCKS between the sheets, telling me the bed sheets had not been changed. The room was dingy. I went to the front and asked for a different room, the next room we were given had no air running and it smelled like DOG URINE!!! Once again, at midnight I had to switch rooms. The 3rd room was sleepable. Although the door didn't lock properly, I had to barricade the door shut w/ a chair and the night stand just to feel safe enough to sleep. I WILL NEVER stay in this nor any Crossland hotel again!!!!

I stayed two nights at this motel and I didn't spend much time in my room. When I was there, I found it was very clean. The bedding and drapes were outdated, but in good condition. The towels were clean, but very thin. It was located less than 50 feet from a major highway, so it could be quite noisy at times. If I weren't with my husband, I probably wouldn't have stayed there by myself, but overall, I found it to be a good value because it was just a place for us to sleep at night after the wedding we were in town to attend.

THE MOTEL WAS IN A GREAT LOCATION THAT WAS EASILY ACCESSABLE FROM THE INTERSTATE. THE ONLY PROBLEM THAT WE HAD WAS THAT THE SHEETS WOULD NOT STAY ON THE BED BECAUSE THE WERE TO SMALL.
