Pretty Bad
The Staff are friendly. But A Cockroach The size of my thumb fell from the ceiling right before I went to bed. Needless to say going to sleep was not easy.

I was to attend a workshop at the Creative Arts Center on Pryce Street. As it turns out, Pryce Street used to be Lawrence and all maps and Google still list it as Lawrence. Needless to say, getting there was quite a journey around Lake Charles, eventhough eventually, after contacting the Chamber of Commerce, I found out it was only 2 minutes from my hotel.

A comfortable rest stop for a day
When I first arrived at the hotel, I noticed that the lobby area was dimly lit (which became a great concern for me). No staff was immediately available to check me in; however, when I did get someone, they were quite friendly and accomodating. The room was exceptionally clean and comfortable, but I would have preferred to find a little more coffee preparing products in the room. A free continental breakfast was served, which was great, but incomplete with the products needed to prepare the food I desired. Ex: There was cereal, but no milk/grits, but no butter packs, etc. There was also bruised or "old" fruit. I bit into an apple that was red on the outside, but brown on the inside. That let me know that it may have been there for too long, which was quite disappointing. With the exception of the continental breakfast, I was pleased with the experience overall.

Quiet and clean
The hotel staff was courteous and helpful. My stay was very restful and relaxing. The hotel is located in an unlit neighborhood, but the property itself is well-lighted.

The Isle of Capri is just a short drive up I-10 West. This is a clean, affordable hotel if you don't want to pay the big bucks and stay at the casino.

I just need a place to stay to say goodbye to my son before he went to war and this worked perfect for me. Nothing real fancy, but I wasn't looking for fancy. I was looking for value and found it.

Worth the price!
The Howard Johnson in Lake Charles is well worth the price! Centrally located downtown on Broad St., the motel is perfect for those interested in visiting Lake Charles and its casinos.
