Super 8 Lake Charles/Sulphur

Visited with family then enjoyed a very comfortable, clean room when we returned to the Super 8 at night, all employees we encountered were very nice and pleasant. Have stayed there before and it is always our first choice when we return to visit family.

Checked in and requested quiet interior room with no road or pool noise. Done. The room was quiet and the decor was nice for the price. Verified that the WiFi was up and any log-in instructions to make the connection. Seemed easy enough. The WiFi only worked for about 1 hour, and I had about 5 hours of work to complete for business purposes. The router crashed and needed to be reset, but the evening manager did not have access to the router equipment in the general manager's locked office. The general manager was not answering his phone to come and reset router. I was asked to use the WiFi at another property up the street - at night as a solo traveling female with no spouse or coworker!!! The WiFi never came back up that evening, (or the following morning). An adjustment was promised to my bill for the inconvenience upon checkout by the night manager. However, upon checking out the next morning at 8:00am, the female daytime assistant manager would not discount my bill as promised since the reservation was prepaid through Orbitz, and she said the night desk clerk was not even a manager. I asked her to reconsider and offer some kind of discount since I was not able to work and she just shrugged her shoulders and gave me a fairly rude "Sorry". Very insincere. The reasons I selected this property was for price and free WiFi which is critical to my business endeavors and the reason I was visiting Lake Charles. I will never use this location or any other Super 8 again. Beware!! PS: The free breakfast was not up to par with other chains.

We went to see a concert Our stay was great Great trip, motel was immaculate, had lots of amenities in the rooms and continental breakfast was great with large selection.

The Lake Charles/Sulphur Super 8 lacks curb appeal, but the interior more than makes up for that. The rooms are clean, well appointed and professionally decorated, the staff is friendly and knowledgeable. The rooms open to an interior corridor and I felt very safe with my children. I would stay there again.
