Great place to stay in NOLA
Excellent place to stay and couldn't believe how quiet it was despite being only half a block off Bourbon St. Staff was very helpful and accommodating. Only screw up was that we requested a king bed and got two doubles instead. Loved the courtyard for hanging out and meeting with other guests. Would stay there again.

Very nice well located newly remodeled hotel. Breakfasts were better than most and nice. I have stayed in a couple of dozen French Quarter hotels and this one is one of the best small hotels and a great value. Quiet, clean, well staffed, helpful, good AC, computer access, bar, patio, small pool but without the big hotel extras [gym, restaurant, convention center, meeting rooms, etc.].

Shopping tip:
Short walk from hotel
Walk all of Royal Street for interesting shops. Go for bignets and coffee for breakfast at the river and have dinner at Galatoire's - the best old time restaurant in the Quarter.

A fabulous place to stay in New Orleans!
I couldn't say enough good things about Hotel Marais. We loved the location, the kind and helpful staff, the beautiful courtyard, the funky bar, the comfortable beds, the quiet rooms, the location....! We will absolutely stay here again. Was a bit of a splurge over jazz fest --but if you can afford it, treat yourself!

Perfect Hideout
The Hotel Le Marais was a wonderful escape in the French Quarter. The decor was beautiful, rooms very comfortable, the courtyard was tranquil , and the staff was outstanding. This boutique hotel is the perfect spot to enjoy the ambiance of New Orlean's historic French Quarter.

What a gem
Great location, right around the corner from Bourbon street but far enough away to not hear it. Within walking distance to all of French quarter, iconic restaurants and great jazz on Frenchman street. Rooms were big, clean, modern and bed was huge and comfortable. Small bar downstairs was great for a quiet nightcap, but only went once as there is so much else right on the front doorstep. As with breakfast, the slim pickin's were all that should be needed as so many great breakfast places to choose from nearby. Fantastic hidden gem with clean modern decor. Friendly helpful staff. Would definitely stay here again.

Great hotel in a great location!!
This hotel is right in the French Quarter in a perfect location! It is one block away from Bourbon St., which means it is super clse to walk to, yet quieter than actually staying on Bourbon St. It is easy to walk to Canal St. and Decatur St. The breakfast was good (eggs, bacon, bread, bagels, cereal, yogurt, and fruit). The staff was extremely friendly and helpful, so if you want to book something you should do it through them!

Entertainment tip:
Short walk from hotel
We traveled to New Orleans during Fench Quarter Festival, which was a lot of fun! There are lots of food and beverage booths and great music during the day! At night, Bourbon St. is packed and loud. Definitely the place to be for a fun and crazy time!

Great little hotel in great location
My family just returned from good deal on a few days here, and we liked it very much. It's an ideal location in the French Quarter; you could walk out the door every morning and just wander through fascinating streets. (In our case, we walked out the door and always turned left, since Bourbon Street rowdiness holds zero appeal.) The small pool in the courtyard was a nice refuge from the surrounding scene. Included breakfast was very basic, but convenient. The rooms are beautiful, clean, and very modern inside this old building. Our only complaint: The only way they could give us 2 adjoining rooms was to put us on the smaller street-facing side, and even from the top (5th) floor, we heard PLENTY of Bourbon Street noise, all night -- mostly the low thump of music coming through walls. We just coped because we needed adjacent rooms, but I wouldn't accept it if I didn't need to - get courtyard side if you can.

A Good Vacation
A very good stay in a newly refurbished small hotel in the French Quarter. The staff and service were good, the bed was exceptionally comfortable and the courtyard next to the bar is a good meeting place. We shall certainly come back.
