Great Spot!!
We stayed for 2 nights as an add on to our Mexico cruise. Wanted to get a taste of New Orleans and the French Quarter. This hotel is in a great location, at the edge of the business district, and only a block and a half from Bourbon Street! Its also a block and a half from a Walgreens(in case you need some cold medicine). The hotel is very nice, modern, and clean. The rooms all look new, the decor is simple but modern. Only small issue is the options on beds are either kings or 2 doubles. We like to have 2 beds, one for sleeping and the other to lay out items, but the double bed is entirely too small to sleep on. My suggestion is, for singles there are no issues, couple should only go for the king, and as far as families with kids, I'd stay somewhere else. This hotel is not designed for families, more toward the business group and couples. Don't get me wrong, if you have a family coming, they treat you like gold, I'm just not so sure the sleeping arrangements will be as wonderful as the rest of the hotel. The pool is small but thats all thats needed. It is set in a nice private area surrounded by red & black painted walls, greenery, and some nice seating. They have some outdoor speakers playing comfortable world music, very much in the background and completely non-intrusive. There is a nice business center with a coffee shop(makes a great latte), a full bar on the main floor and a nice one on the top floor. The Mila restaurant in the hotel is also a good spot for a nice meal. Try the eggs benedict there, perfectly done. The hotel staff are incredible, from the porter to the room attendants. They are mindful of you at all times, if you turn your head with a questionable look on your face, they are right there to see how they can help. The navigator station(concierge) knows her stuff, and between her and the porter they give you a ton of helpful hints on the Quarter, making so you'll never get lost. One other small negative, they do not have their own shuttle service to and from the airport, however they have made arrangements with a local cab fleet to give a flat rate per person, and it turned out to be quite reasonable. By the way, the entire hotel is non smoking including the bar. They have a section just outside the front entrance and by the pool. This is a positive for some and a negative for others, personally I liked that no part of the hotel smelled of smoke...and Im a smoker!! Renaissance hotels are all over the world, and always are well liked, Renaissance Pere Marquet is a great fit in New Orleans.

Time-saving tip:
Short walk from hotel
There are 3 trolley lines throughout the area, one is the Canal St. Line, you can catch it a little more than a block from the hotel, pay $5 for all 3 lines all day, they take you to a ton of museums and attractions that are not part of the Quarter.

Over night get away
The staff was very friendly. However, when we first got to our room, we assumed they would have gave us a king bed, instead we got 2 doubles. We called the front desk and they moved us immediately. It was a great stay for a great price. We will stay there again.

Short walk from hotel
The hotel is close enough to walk the quarter and the riverwalk. If there is other places you would like to go, valet is one price as long as you're a hotel guest. Come and go as much as like.

Good choice for the French Quarter
This was our first trip to New Orleans. We went for the Jazz Fest. We wanted a nice hotel that was near the French Quarter but not in the middle of the Bourbon Street craziness. The Pere Marquette was perfect. It is located at the very end of Bourbon Street, just across Canal Street, which is the border of the French Quarter. We walked everywhere. It was so convenient. Great restaurants, shopping, taxis always available. (and taxis are a great way to get around there. Very inexpensive). The hotel service was excellent. It's not over the top luxury, but it's very nice. The staff was friendly, knowledgeable, and very helpful to us newbies. The room was modern, clean. and QUIET (except for the HVAC hum that seems to happen in all hotels). It was kind of smallish, but who needs a big hotel room in New Orleans when there is SO much to do? We didn't spend much time in it except for sleeping. The elevators are fast, the lobby bar is a great place to hang out, there's a latte cart right in the lobby, and they are all eager to make your stay memorable. Bourbon Street was a bit of a shock. Talk about Babylon. Sodom and Gomorrah. I mean, jeez. And I'm not a smalltown girl or anything.

Short walk from hotel
Breakfast at Pierre Maspero's on Chartres St was so good, we went back there 3 days in a row. Great local hangout. It has a buzzing, busy vibe but we always walked right in without waiting. The food was great. The service was very friendly. And if you're into Bloody Mary's to go, you can just stop in at the bar and take one with you for your morning walk.

Good location for Price, but dirty rooms.
Customer service was great. Hotel was nice and modern. Late check in was speedy and no problems. Parking is $30 a day,but thats about the going rate anywhere around downtown.Pool is small, not rooftop but 3rd floor, and sits in-between 2 large buildings so no sun. Coffee shop is NOT a Starbucks but serves their coffee, false advertising. Only problem was multiple old stains on both beds in rooms and previous peoples old stuff left under bed, gross.

Renaissance Pere Marquette New Orleans
The hotel was enjoyable with a nice atmosphere and modern decor. Staff was excellent. One major drawback - all the king rooms, which mine was one of them unfortunately, shared a wall with the elevator and the elevator is very loud. You can hear the gears and movement all night and we couldn't get a wink of sleep.

Ask for a room AWAY from the elevator bank. They won't switch you if you are in a room next to the noisy elevator shaft.

Mardi Gras Stay
We stayed at the Pere Marquette for Mardi Gras. The facilities were great, the lounge is top notch and you MUST get a drink from [...]. The stay was comfortable, the rooms quiet (impressive for theis time of year) parking was on site and caused no delays. Checkout was quick and easy. We tried to stay out as much as possible but it was great to know we had such a good place to crash at. There are nicer rooms but it's hard to find a better one at this price point during Mardi Gras. We were all extremely pleased with our stay.
