Great location, good staff
The location is great. Most of the staff was nice. But: the rooms are SMALL. First room, so small we asked for a new one. Second room, slightly bigger, but it smelled like cigarette smoke, very strong and bad. A whole bottle of freshener plus what the maid used and it was still stinky. My unworn clothes smelled when I unpacked. The whole hotel is non-smoking, by the way. Third room was a better size, but we were there 12 days and didn't move in until day 9. The elevators were fast and plentiful. We never waited. The bathrooms were nice, enough room mostly and functional. The staff was accomodating for the most part. We did buy a noise generator on our first day, due to noisy neighbors. The lobby is industrial--no place to sit. The exercise bike was broken. Internet was OK in the room, but we could not print from a website in the "business center"--one PC and one printer. There was a $9 charge for the fitness center and internet, too.The room furniture was all broken, delaminating. All in all, I would not recommend this hotel.

The American Sector restaurant in the WWII Museum is awesome. A John Besh restaurant, with great food. The Museum is good, too.

Great Location, especially during Mardi Gras
Had a few little problems with the water (hot water went out and then water cut off next day) yet both were repaired rapidly. Staff was average, nothing to rave about yet did their job. The extra $9 a day hotel charge (amenity fee) was known yet little steep for internet, phone, and use of some fitness room- who uses that in NOLA?? GREAT location. We were on parade route and easy walking distance to anything and everything. Room was small but was fine. Carpet could use a good cleaning but in New Orleans, hotels probably need to do this frequently. Walls are very thin... Not the nicest place I've stayed in New Orleans but considering price I paid during high season travel time I felt it was a positive experience.

Cafe Maspero's. If you haven't been there- go. And eat the french onion soup. I love this place. Crave it. Actually will plan a trip to NOLA just to eat at some of my favorite places.

Great hotel, price and location.
This hotel is perfect for people not wanting to stay right on loud, crazy Bourbon St., yet it's in walking distance to everything in the French Quarter. Great hotel, very clean and VERY friendly and helpful staff. Only downfall is the walls are very thin and if you have a room right by the elevators (and are a light sleeper like me) they will keep you up all night. I would recommend asking for a room far away from the elevators. Other than that, I have nothing bad to say about this hotel.

Oceana Grill (the front desk also gives a 10% off coupon.) Most amazing food we had the entire time. Also try Acme Oyster bar. For a nice dinner, try the Bourbon House.

You get what you pay for...
Location was good, great access to Bourbon Street, Pillows were awful and hotel was "out" when I asked for an extra one. Sheets were clean, bathroom clean enough but the carpet felt very dirty, of course you track in the street dirt from NO. Staff seemed annoyed by guests. My friends who stayed in the same hotel had rooms without windows. Will pay a little more next time for more comfort.

Disappointed in New Orleans
PLEASE AVOID THIS HOTEL
Please avoid this hotel at all cost I beg of you. Their equipment i.e. their door malfunctioned to the point that their employees were able to in and steal over 2000 dollars worth of technology!! What makes it worse the general manager could give a rats toe what happened to my best friend and I. We felt like we were less than nothing although we were out 2500 (the cost of our stuff and hotel cost) She did not care to make anything right. Please spend your money at a better hotel with a real name Hilton, Sheraton etc I do not want this to happen to anyone else. Nothing but theives and inconsiderate people its just sad.

Essence Festival Extravaganza
I took a trip to the 2011 Essence Music Festival in New Orleans. The trip was amazing and the hotel was in close proximity to many things. Food, clubs, shopping, etc. I stayed at this hotel last year and it was just as amazing. They left little gifts in the room and it made me feel really welcome. The staff was kind and I really enjoyed the location. I didn't need to rent a car, because everything I needed was walking distance. Will definetly be staying there again next year.
