Staybridge Suites at Tchoupitolus
Overall, we were happy with the location of this hotel...just far enough off from the crazy noise of Canal and Bourbon Streets to get a good nights sleep. The place had a nice breakfast and reception hours (cocktails and snacks), but the beds were very poor and worn out, so my wife and I had to sleep in separate double beds. I'd probably upgrade to a Hilton or Sheraton next time, just so my wife and I could sleep in the same comfortable bed next time. Overall, if you have kids and need a bigger room, this is probably a good bet...but if you're looking for a more "posh" experience...try one of the fancier joints.

Great Hotel with a View
Loved everything about this hotel. The front desk was helpful and got us on City Tours the next morning. The tour was really great and we had an extremely good driver and tour guide. The view from our 16th floor was stunning. The room was clean and spacious with a full kitchen. Breakfast was aslo included and had enough variety for everyone. The hotel is in a great location near the Riverwalk, Aquarium, Trolleys, and Harrahs. In minutes you are in the heart of the French Quater or Jackson Square. Trolleys are just a few blocks away on Canal Street. It was perfect for our 4 night get away.

Dining tip:
Short walk from hotel
The French Quarter has a lot of little cafes and coffee shops where you can jump in and get a pastry, sandwich, or any type of coffee drink. These are inexpensive and they use fresh, local produce. They are used by locals as well as tourists. Another must is the Cafe Du Monde for beignettes and Cafe au Lait. It never disappoints! Pat O'Briens is another delight with all the liveliness in the courtyard as well as in the piano bar. The waiters and staff all treat you like long lost freinds. Super friendly place for a drink, food, or just people watching.

Smoking Room, credit card charges
We were given a smoking room and since the hotel was at capacity, there were no other room options. The chairs in the room were stained and there were cigarette holes in the curtains. The hotel agreed to put in an air purifier, but this did not help as the smell was in the carpet and walls. A week after our trip, we found out our credit card was charged almost $600 by the hotel. The front desk staff person said it was a mistake and that he would have the charge taken off. Two days later the charge had not been revered. The credit card company is going to dispute the charge.

Easy to enjoy New Oleans
Our room was clean and spacious. It was a great place to relax after a day of exploring. The hotel is within walking distance of most of the attractions we wanted to visit and close to a taxi stand and the trolley for places outside the city. Complimentary breakfast is healthy and generous. Also, the hotel is across the street from Mother's, some of the best food in NOLA. Staff is welcoming.

Good location in French Quarter, but not great hotel
The hotel is designed for long stays and probably works for that. However, for short stays, they don't clean the rooms on weekends; the staff aren't that helpful; and there's always only one elevator working out of 2 with 18 floors. HOWEVER - you're about 3 blocks from the French Quarter. Stayed here for the BCS game so high cost a night isn't their normal rate, but the only thing Bama and LSU fans agreed on was this hotel was not a great operation.

Great quick NOLA getaway
This property is in a great location on Poydras St just on the edge of the French Quarter and walking distance from Harrah's and the Riverwalk. It's a great value and we will stay there on future trips to the Big Easy. The staff was friendly and helpful. Rooms were well appointed.
