Girlfriends Getaway
Our stay at The Backbay hotel was fantastic. We enjoyed the location and look and feel of the hotel. The staff was exceptional especially Stephanie who greeted us and gave us great tips on moving around the city. The bar was pleasant enough and pretty much on par with most lounges in the area as far as price. Although the restaurant was quite expensive for an average Joe. Drawback was no coffee or hot water for tea in room. However there was Starbucks Coffee and teas available in the hotel lobby / lounge which had a very relaxing feel. The theater district and Chinatown were very nearby as well as Newbury Street for all shoppers. The Prudential Center was a very short walk for the healthy. There, one could visit the Skywalk Observatory and do More shopping in the large mall. Very nice stay. Staff was very helpful and pleasant.

Clean, Quiet, Comfortable, Classy
I loved my brief stay at the Back Bay hotel! Its well-appointed rooms have everything you need, from a fridge and comfortable bed to a radio/CD/iPod player and large desk with wired and wireless Internet. (Unlike other reviewers, I had no problem with the wireless, which I found fast and reliable.) The heated towel racks in the bathroom were a wonderful addition, as were the clean robes and thick bath towels. Loved the bathroom products as well--high-quality shampoo, conditioner, body wash, lotion, and soap. Also loved the free chilled bottle water in the fridge. It is odd that there is no in-room coffee, especially in the off-season when their own coffee shop is not open, but there is a Starbucks close by and 24-7 room service as well. Hotel staff were professional, gracious, and responsive. One other "could-have-been-better" note was that the t.v. only included basic cable + HBO. Would have loved to have had Food Network or Comedy Central for late night. The bar on the ground floor is classy and cozy at the same time--tables by the fire were warm and invited us to stay longer... Cocktails were yummy and generous in size. Overall, this hotel was comfortable, quiet, clean, classy, and fun. I definitely recommend it!

Short walk from hotel
Don't waste $20-30 on a cab from Logan Airport. Take the airport's free shuttle bus to the blue line T-station. Then take the blue line T to Government Center. Change there for the green line to Arlington Station. Walk five minutes to the hotel from there. Total cost = $2.00.

Welcoming hotel ideal location for exploring Boston
Staff really welcoming, great location & close to "T" station. Nice bar to enjoy a relaxing drink after a long day out exploring - food is good too! Rooms were spacious and clean, the full size fridge was certainly a bonus! Wouldn't hesitate to return.

walkable location, clean rooms, responsive staff
have stayed in several hotels in this area and in terms of price, location and service this is a great deal. the staff from front desk to room service and valet were excellent - helpful, attentive and prompt. room was quiet, clean and large enough for two. the restaurant has good, fresh, healthy fare. restaurants arent posh but nice and comfy for a good meal. Valet is $42/day with in/out privileges. there are a number of self park garages in the one block radius as well. cab stand adjacent to hotel and the T station is around the corner on Columbus. The hotel is a short walk to the commons, Newbury st and sights. all in all a hotel to come back to for sure.

Very comfortable, nice staff
Very comfortable and private rooms. Spacious and clean. The staff is nice too. The chair in my room was broken when I came in. I called the reception, and it was taken care of within minutes. Centrally located, I just walked to most of the places in downtown. Definitely will stay there if I go to Boston again.

Loved it!
My 2 friends and I went for a six night stay over thanksgiving as we visit a different US city every year to do our Christmas shopping. We booked flight and hotel together through an online travel agency and got a great deal. When we arrived at the hotel it was to find that there records showed our arrival date as the week before. I was horrified but the reception staff sorted it all out and told us not to worry and checked us in to a room. The room was lovely and spacious with 2 double beds. There was plenty of storage for our cases and a large bathroom. Very clean. Free wifi. The location of the hotel was brilliant. Central to everything you could want to do in Boston, shops, restaurants and transport links. The reception and concierge staff were lovely and helped with booking trips and giving tips on where to go and what to do and always with a smile. I would definitely stay again and recommend this hotel to others. If I had to be picky and choose one negative point it would be that all rooms should have tea and coffee making facilities not just the upgraded ones, although this was a minor point as you can get morning coffee in the lobby from 6am. Loved the hotel and its friendly staff :-))

Go to Newbury St for designer shops or get the bus to Wrentham premium outlet for major bargains! The bus picks you up and drops you off right outside the hotel.
