Great Stay

We stayed here while visiting Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park. It was very convenient to both. It was clean, spacious and had a free breakfast. We enjoyed our stay.

modest family getaway

Room was adequate-bed was very comfortable but the continental breakfast was substandard Could have used more bars of soap-got some bug bites and hotel didn't have anything in their first aid kit to put on the bites-no shower caps in room-blow dryer inadequate for drying long hair(not powerful enough)

Nice place with friendly, helpful staff

Hotels are a little pricey in Bar Harbor, but this was a little more moderately priced. Nice ample sized room with 2 queen beds. One of the Best "continental breakfast" I've ever had. The staff was very nice and helpful. They were a little surprised that we didn't want our room cleaned, but we only slept there and would prefer not to have strangers enter our room. They were understanding (and maybe a little relieved of 1 less room to clean). The only negative was that we were on the first floor and the ceiling "squeeked" as people walked upstairs because it has wooden floors. Wasn't really a problem other than the first night. sounded like someone was "herding cats". I banged on the ceiling and it stopped. Slept like a baby with the windows open and the beautiful weather. One of our favorite things was that it is across the street from College of the Atlantic. We like to walk after dinner and that was the PERFECT place to walk. Hotel was close to town, but not too close to have traffic issues. Perfect location for us. If we go back to Bar Harbor, we'll probably stay at this place again. Good value (compared to other hotels in the area).

Stay away from eating at the "tourist traps" on the water in Bar Harbor! Watered down drinks. Bland food. If you just want to drink beer overlooking the water, probably the perfect places. For great food, other end of main traffic area of Main street had GREAT food and delicious cocktails. We really liked Po Boys :)

"Unbeatable location for the price"

We arrived at the hotel and were met with a beautiful smile and our room was ready. Our friends were there and we asked the manager if we could use the diner area for a cheese and wine get together and we were welcome to do it and even provided some wine glasses. The breakfast was very good. The only little inconvenient was the noisy room doors....Very clean and well located.

how is that acceptable?

Checked in late and tired from a full day of sightseeing in this beautiful area only to be given a room with a peeling wall, a toilet that looked like the front end was about to shatter to the floor, and a room chair that had a volleyball sized stain of God knows what. I changed rooms and noticed they stuck someone else there the next day. Very disappointing that whatever kind of management they have here would think this is acceptable. Beds are old and the pillows are hard poly filled too. Could be a great place with some seemingly easy fixes. On the up side location to town was nice and the day staff was polite.

Acadia Inn - Decent Stay

A bit pricey, but maybe for the time we went that was market price as a lot of places had no vacancy and people walked in asking about vacancies.
