I paid $10 extra to get a room with fridge and microwave.......fridge was not cold when I got there. I had to pull cabinet away from wall to find out it was unplugged!! After plugging it in at 5 pm it was not ready to cool my food for a long while. Pool was lovely and refreshing. Would have been nice to have pool towels.

Wonderful Place

We were staying in the area to go to Funtown/Splashtown in Saco but also to visit Yorks Wild Kingdom further south in Maine. It was a convenient place to stay, very clean. Very nice outdoor pool. Places to eat within the area. [...]. Great staff at the cottages, very helpful and knowledgeable about the surrounding area. Reserved a motel room at the same loceation because it was cheaper but when i got there they had overbooked the motel rooms so they put me up in a cottage for the same price. Very accomodating. Had a blast. It was my honeymoon so I wanted a peaceful out of the way place and the cottage was great in that sense.

Description
As a young boy- Jonathan Cartwright wanted to be a cyclist and win the Tour de France. But- at the age of 15- he discovered cooking and became more interested in wearing a white apron than the yellow jersey. These days he is a respected and dedicated chef- who has turned the White Barn Inn into a great place to eat as well as a peaceful- elegant place to stay and a unique centre of relaxation. In the words of this passionate perfectionist- Cooking requires the same determination as cycling- the same effort and the same team spirit. Above all- Jonathan values the quality of his products and he can tell you the life story of the fresh Kennebunkport lobster- star of his menu- from its birth to the moment it arrives in his kitchen. To be savoured as it is or in a bisque or a cognac sauce- among the other creations inspired by local produce.

I was there for a wedding and the price I paid was less than half of what it would have cost to stay where most of the wedding party stayed, and it was only 10 minutes away.

Just O.K !

  • Mommydiva
  • 31 Jul 2011
The greeting staff were very nice and very accommodating. They upgraded us to a bigger room without charge. The offered a complimentary breakfast that was very nice. The room was appeared clean but as the days continued we kept feeling as if we were being bitten by an insects. I never saw anything and it always happened in the room. THere were no mosquito's coming in from outside. I'm not sure what it was but I suspect maybe it was coming from the carpet. Laying in bed didn't make it worse, so I don't think it was bed bugs. we only stayed 2 days before returning home. There were also wires hanging from the elevated TV down to the outlets. This poses a danger to young children.

Cool Pool and Game Room

  • Couple from Pa
  • 24 Jul 2011
Used the Pool because it was very Hot. In the room we did not have any comfortable chairs to watch T.V. Only the bed to sit on. The other was a straight-back chair for the desk. The king-size bed was hard and took most of the space. The AC worked great and was on for 24 hrs. We stayed for 5 days, it was cheaper and the place was clean.
